I just hate everythng in my life. Sometimes I compare myself with other people and I keep on feeling worthless and subhuman on a daily basis. Is there a reason why I'm feeling depressed all the time?

I am a pre-Biology major =( struggling to be known as one of the best. Unfortunately I am nothing. Nothing.

I'm organising a talk to students about signs and symptoms of depression. However, I have troubles coming up with a title and iI need a catchy phrase to attract them to my talk without making them feel intimidated. Something like: Why I am feeling so emo?

I was abused as a child, but I can't seem to convince myself that it was real. I tell myself it wasn't even a big deal...that people in the past went through worst, so it is justified. And I turned out fine, so what's the big deal. But sometimes I just really hurt inside, and wish I had a home with a mother who loved me. Sometimes I have memories of the things she did to me, and it hurts so much, because I bet she was stressed. She was a single mother. She was a waiter. She raised my sister and I on her own. I just can't seem to admit that it wasn't my fault, and it's tearing me apart. She's normal now. She eventually went to college and got a better job. Less fiancial strain, I guess. I want to forgive her, because she is okay now. But it is so hard. What do I do?

Some hings she did:
--beat me with fists, broom, anything in reach
--bloody noses
--pull my hair
--bang my head against the wall
--when I was little, I would scratch myself after beatings. I don't know why. when my mom found out, she called me crazy and "helped" me by scratching my neck and back
--tape my mouth shut with tape

Please help. I love her, but I want to *like* her. Counseling is not an option, so don't suggest that.

Thanks.

Why is it the case that something I bought for $50 when that was a lot of money for me is worth to me much more than the same thing when money is less of an issue? A good example is a good soccer ball. That was hard to have as a kid. Now it no longer is. I should have been very excited to own the nice soccer ball that I bought; I was not. Neither am I able to appreciate fancy sushi dinners the same way as I did previously. What has changed? The ball is still the same and so is the food.

You can't say that if you are clean, it won't happen. When i was younger maybe i didn't wipe my butt good enough but i do now until i don't see anything on the toilet paper and i can still scratch my butt sometimes and get brown marks on my underwear and pants. Of course i don't let anyone see but has this happened to any of you alot? I don't do it much anymore but i used to do it ALOT. Is it just part of being a human that we hide? like picking our noses?

oh yeah i am a girl. I know girls would hide it more

For my freshman english 2 class, you have to write a paper on carl jung's archetypes. We only really need to choose one and give examples from a couple of works. I was wondering if anyone knew much about the archetypes? I've been trying to research it online, but I'm not getting too much information. And any suggestions for which archetype I should use and an argument I can write?

I had a scary dream and I was hoping for some enlightenment....

I was walking through a long grassy paddock with my sister we stumbled across a dead bloody body (female), there was a two storey house nearby and we had the keys as we got to the door I was looking for the right key - it wasn't there... I looked under the house to see a small toddler girl sitting in a chair in the dark and mud, I looked further there was a, living, woman with blond hair and two men, one looked to be a husband or father - I didn't recognise them ...

then I woke up, feeling rather shaken - any thoughts?

Why are some people more creative than others? Is it all genetic? Can creativity be taught? Can it be cultivated? I know there are lots of techniques to stimulate lateral thinking (e.g. E. De Bono) but is this true creativity?

I've always thought it to be absurd that the Hollywood crowd doesn't ever take any responsibility for the negative effects of some of their movies. The standard irresponsible answer is that "movies simply reflect our culture, we can't be responsible for what people do after watching our movie." (or listening to our music, or reading our books, etc.). I think violent movies tend to increase violence in our society. But am I wrong?
