To promote mental illness truth a good protest sign is needed. Sadly, the most popular phrase so far was my US senator’s mental illness problem. (Based on people looking at the mentioned website.)

What short protest sign phrase would make people look at website for more mental illness truth? Getting the news to pay attention is another desired result. (We also don’t want to break any laws to do it.)

Do you get caught up in the fact that they don't care if they are right or wrong, they just want to pull you in and get you upset. Or do you just stay calm and don't let them get to you. I am just curious how people react to each other in this situation.

Sometimes I do things that I hate to admit and when someone asks me or I tell them I don't want to tell them the whole truth so I either tell them the truth or cover a small part of the truth with a white lie. I hate doing that.

Help?

Many times in my life I've been frozen out, either by "friends", co-workers, study-groups...and in all cases I've yet to learn how to deal with them. It's a constant test in life which I fail b/c I don't know how to deal with it. Lashing out I know is not the answer, but me sitting on the outside and doing nothing is just as bad. How do you deal with being isolated when you really want to be apart of something special?

Two weeks ago, I was in a major auto accident (not my fault, which makes it even worse). Some jerk hit me after running a light and after the initial shock and confusion, I feel almost constant rage and then sadness (and still confusion) and a feeling that I'm "coming apart"! I can't relax, can't "focus" and tho' I've been in counseling for awhile (for other stuff), my shrink doesn't have much useful info on what I can do.

My wife says I need to "let my feelings out", but I'm afraid to, and learn relaxation techniques, but to me, they're a waste of time I don't have and I'm not the "earthy-crunchy" type. I just want this to be over!

What can I do so I don't "explode"? (I don't really know what that means, but my feelings scare me)! Is this normal for people after accidents?

recently i went to my local shop to buy some cigs. the lady asked me for id to which i replied "i'm 26, can you not see my crow's eyes! look at my crow's eyes!". later that day i went to a pub and asked for a vodka and again got asked for id to which i replied "rah. i'm 26, look at my crow's eyes, i have crow's eyes!!" it was only then that my friend pointed out that in fact i didn't have crow's eyes( minute beady black bulbous eyes) and even if i did that wouldn't have reflected on my age. the term i was looking for was obviously crow's feet! each time they looked at me like i was absolutely mad and maybe believed that i thought i was part crow.

I've been writing a book recently about disability, epilepsy and all the trials and tribulations that comes with it. It's a dark comedy of how I have coped with being born with Polands Anomaly (have hands like Jeremy Beadle) I'm a chronic Epileptic and brain damage.
People who I have showed it too are coming out with remarks like "you can't say things like that, someone may find that offensive!" but I think that's an over reaction.
We are getting back to this heather mills thing again. So where do we draw the line especially as writers of comedy.
The biggest joke I hear all the time is 'can I put you in the bath with the washing?
I don't find that offensive and I come back with a witty retort like 'only if you use Ariel as Daz gives me a rash. but my mates find that offensive for me?
Do we as disabled people become dead to remarks like that or are family and friends over defensive.

I work in a hospital within the IT department. Our department is small. But the hospital is rather large. More then 1,500 employees. I would say that 80% of the people outside the IT department knows notthing about IT. This is not an opinion but a well known fact. I notice that when dealing with non-IT people regarding IT there is some hostility or frustration with these non-it people. They also act almost like they expect it to work and we are supposed to work magic. They don't understand if something takes time and don't appreciate that if we are not here nothing will really work. They also act like we are a servant or expect us to fix it even if we are in a bind. Why are non-technical people so stupid like this....

I am a 21 year old male. I was recently diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. I was told that there is no cure for this condition, which makes perfect sense. I hate the way I am. I asked a girl out for the first time the other day, and although it took a LOT of prepping, it was still a disaster and I was so nervous that I had to throw up afterwords. What can I do to help me socially and be more normal as well.
