Why do some people give their children such weird names?

Moon Unit my god Hogreatha? How horrid. People who name their kids with bad names should be spanked severely.

I would choose Moon Unit...if I had to choose. And I don't know why they name their kids such weird names...probably so that they aren't named the same as everyone else. Gives them a sense of individuality...not that it does...but the parent might think that. I wouldn't choose Hogreatha because it sounds really ugly...makes me think of hags...

I'd choose the name moon unit.And i think people name their kids really weird names so they stand out or because the names mean something special.Like my friend Anjani(onjanee).She has a weird name,but it really means angel in a different language.You get my point.

I would choose Moon Unit...did you know that some actress named her son Auto Science? Also there is a director who namede his sons Rebel, Rocket and Rouge.

Frank was never one to be conventional (and the proper pronounciation of her name was "'Moon, Unit Zappa")
You could have been the Phoenixes (River and Leaf)

I don't know why people do that, but I wouldn't choose either name.
