Maybe I'm wrong but I think we know very well who and what we are unless we are in denial. Just be true to yourself and be all that you can be.

Let me tell you what I have learned in life. You can't "know" yourself overnight. This is a long process, it took me nearly 3 years to figure out the basics, and I still can't say I completely know who I am. From my experience: The journey of self discovery never ends. There is always new things to learn about yourself everyday. =)

first off, write it all down..... write about what you think when good things happen, bad things, so so things, and go from there.... write what you think about other people,, write about how you judge other people, write about how you view the world on good things bad things, evil things, god, the devil, Write how you react to certain situations,, flirting, sex, love, hate, I did this, and then you read back through it, and youll think to yourself, wow this person is a *****, or wow this person is an angel... and then youll kind afigure out how other people percieve you, and how you really are.

two things here, one look at yourself in the mirror and write down what you think people think of you, then writer down what you think of yourself, then write what you want people to think about you. it is all about self evaluation and being honest, even ask friends that you trust to tell you what they think about you then its all about collecting the info and making sense of it.
if that seems too hard and you want something easier then your a fat lazy thick b@stard, hahaha no get a physiologist.
