Someone else just asked a Q about serial killers, so it sparked my curiosity.. have any of you done research about this? What is the psychology of one? Does something in their brain/thinking slowly warp over time, until they think with only a serial killers thoughts? Do they have varying personalities and sometimes they are normal and other times serial killers? Between serial killers, is there any similarities in background or life experiences before they become serial killers? Does everyone have the possibility of becoming a serial killer, just some never go that way because they have different life experiences?

I am terrified of spiders......they scare me sh!tless.

I don't know what the psychology of this is as I find them beautiful in their own right, and I know they won't hurt me.....but every time I encounter one I am reduced to jelly.

Where I live (Qld, Australia), they are massive. In my bathroom last night there was a huntsmen the size of a saucer and I was about ready to book into a hotel.

Ridiculous, I know, irrational, yes. I don't want to be like this.

Any ideas on how I can keep my cool around spiders? I have no problem with any other creepy crawly, reptile or bug - just the 8 leggedy beasties!

Please help.........thanks

i really started to think about who i really am, and wat other people see me as. um... its really hard to explain but im really into rap music and r&b and hip-hop and stuff, and i just LOVE clothes like southpole, baby phat, rocawear, etc. At school i just wear regular clothes from Kohls and **** and my friends were completly shocked when they found out that i listen to rap music. as i came into the high skool i decided that i would start to show others who i really wanna be, but it is kinda hard. i dont wanna change completly cuz then others will think that im just a wanna-be or sumthin and i dont wanna be shy anymore..i wanna open up in classes and skool like everyone else does. i really wanna be noticed by others at skool. i just wanna show everybody that i am into clothes like southpole and that i do listen to rap music.if anyone can give me anytype of advice i would really appreciate it......

I've always had the same nightmare ever since i was little. I am playing hide and seek with my friends, I'm counting while they go off to hide. As i'm counting a stranger approaches me. I cant see his face as he is wearing a long coat with his hood up. I run to my friends house and my mum opens the door and tells me to go away. I tell her about the stranger, but she just says the samr thing again and tells me my friends arent hiding in that house. As i turn to run, the stranger is getting closer......I knock on the door again, but my mum just tells me to stop mucking about. As she closes the door, my friends are staring out of the window laughing and the stranger creeps up behind me.

I always wake up before he gets me.....

It still freaks me out to this day.

Do any of you have a recurring nightmare?

If as soon as I wake up I start talking or writing about my dream I can remeber A LOT. I can talk for three minutes and even write for pages. I know this has to do with waking up during the REM phase, but why can I remember SO much?

If you're a psychologist, how bothered are you, if at all, when someone not proven as qualified acts as a psychologist when debating someone?

If not a psychologist, answer anyway, but I'm more interested in psychologists of psychology.

Disclaimer: Please, please, keep an open mind.

Well, I need the drive and motivation because I'm really at a place where I need to be more active, both physically and mentally. I get recurring thoughts of what I should do and think of what I want to do, but at the same time, I can't for some reason.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's laziness, it's something more psychological. It seems painful when I even think of reading a book I know I want to read, or going to a place where I really want to go. Please keep an open mind, this isn't exactly the most easiest thing to explain.

So where is my drive and/or my motivation that I clearly need? I'm really suffering, and I need to get out of this hole I'm in.

In the past I have had debilitating shyness in few social situations which border on the line of being full-blown anxiety attacks. Even when I'm comfortable in a situation I'm quiet which people always interpret as shy or even very rude and they will comment on it which then makes me very uncomfortable and even more reseved (sometimes a little angry too).

I dreamt that I was outside a huge church with many spires, possibly in Seattle. It looked similar to Saint Basil's Cathedral in Moscow. The church was so huge that I felt extremely tiny by comparison and overwhelmed by it, but it was incredibly beautiful and ancient.

I am stil in love with this girl but she wont pickup my calls and is practically done with me, for reasons I dont know. There is no final good byes, no last conversations - one of her friends told me she does not want to see me anymore. She knows I love her more than anyone else but seems like she does not care for it. I think she has changed her number and there is no way for me to personally meet her and sort things out because I am in college in a different city. On one hand - I feel insulted that she doesnt give a damn and want to forget her - On the other hand, I just want things to be like before when we were loveydovey or atleast talking.

Every second I think about her and wonder I could be talking to her on the phone right now.

Questions:
How can I move on when I still love her so much?
What should I do - I dont even know what to ask - my brain is not working properly...I miss her so much and it hurts that probably we wont be togetherever again.
How do I cope with this?
