Depends on who got married- If it's someone you're reasonably close to- sibling, parent, close friend- you should go!! Record the show and vege out when you get home... 'sides, it's free food!

If it's a co-worker, or distant cousin or "acquaintance"... hope you sent a card... If you did, then it's fine to stay home.
If you didn't get a card out, you've got a couple options-
A- Go anyway- Be a Man, suck it up and go.
B- Play dumb. Next time you see the newlywed, act like you didn't know, then pull the, "Oh, you got married last week? OMG- I'm soooo sorry- I forgot! Congratulations!!! How was the honeymoon?....."
C- Belated Card- Find something nice at the store, be sure to sign it and get it in the mail (or whatever) ASAP!!!

Unless it was family or you were in the wedding who says you do. If you did not attend the wedding in any capacity but were just invited to the banquet its not required to attend. The only reason to go is if you want to , or you feel you should as a friend. Only you can decide what to do. What ever you decide have fun.

Well if you said you would go then you must stick to your committments, or risk coming off as a total flake. You don't have to go, you have the choice to stay home ... the choice you make says something about your character though.

What, this subject is psychologically torturing you? Get a VCR or a DVR or a TiVO and record the freaking movies and TV shows. Do your social duty and THEN lounge around.

You can... but, think of all the Karma you would be putting off for completion until later. Think of all the negative Karma you would be generating as well. All in all, the cost of independence is quite considerable.... but, knowing the cost, one still has the option of not going.

Peace
