I feel that depending on drugs is a double-edged sword for some people. While it improves and maintains the depression, it makes the individual develop a depency on the drug; remove the drug from the individual and their faced with not only their depression again, but now a drug addiction.
Yet, I feel that therapy is not as easy as popping pills, but it teaches the individual how to deal with their lives only by depending on one thing: themselves, and not medication.

Which do you feel is more effective for managing or curing depression: therapy or medication? Why?

I'm always sad. I feel like I can't be happy for more than a day. Sometimes I sit and cry for no reason. I feel helpless and insecure. Does anybody feel this way? Should I talk to someone?

Everything about me, I want to make it better.
There's always room for improvement.*
-Mentally (Vocabulary, Organization, Honesty)
-Physically (Excercize, Healthier Eating)
-Spiritually (Connection with God)
-Take chances, set goals, smile (big one for me)
-Adaptation (I just moved, it's tough, I loved my old home, lived there for my whole life.)
-Give more than you take.
-Listening & Remembering.
-Do the right thing regardless.
I've gotten what to do, would like more, but now to put it into action.

*I have an extremely low self-esteem

I ask other people. they say I'm fine, how come I don't FEEL fine?

i used to (still do?) believe in God but the more I look at life I see only this. People can be disgustingly mean and lead great lives at the expense of someone else's suffering. what makes them succeed in this? their willpower, obviously. and then you have the religious people who are constantly struggling and so forth...so, from what I see, it's the willpower that helps you instead of...i don't like the way I think and I do want to believe but I can't ignore what i see.

i know my philosophy's not very deep but i want to hear your thoughts on this.

thanks

(but why do i feel so unhappy and depressed about it)

I know so many whiners and complainers and people who intentionally make mistakes, and they seem to prefer that lifestyle even when the opportunity for success is right at their doorstep and asking to be taken in exchange for minimal effort. This love of being hurt and powerless totally confuses me. Why do people do it? Why do people empower/encourage others to do it?

Do you allow other people to make your mind up for you, do you just go along with their suggestions, and then kick yourself afterwards because you know they were wrong.....how many of you have done this at least once in your life...and what was the reason behind it?.....eg where you feeling low, insecure, afraid what?.......

If you are a people pleaser...why do you think it is so important to please other's, and displease yourself in the process sometimes?.......
