its depends of how i die... like if someone breaks in and kills me...well 'm terrified by that... or if its a natural disaster... like the world coming to a end i would be afraid... but if i die peacefully and because its because of something in my body or I'm just old then I'm not afraid......but like my greatest fear is to be killed with my parents or loved ones on PURPOSE.. i think i'm more afraid that i wont see the people that i love and what everyone one else who loves me will think

Hi Grace,
I respect Wood77's answer, because he's been there. I have not but I've been close.
First time I was standing in a clearing in Vietnam, and people started shooting at me. I was alone, and I realized that I could be killed. Then I was afraid! I never fired a shot, but got back in my jeep and drove back and got help. We destroyed the hillside for about two hours.
My next traumatic fear of death came when I was learning to fly. I got my Cessna 152 into a tight spiral, (basically, a death dive,) and I was horrified. I finally accepted that I was a goner, pulled off the throttle, and let go of the controls. The plane slowed, and went straight and level... I reapplied power and flew back to the airport. This usually doesn't happen, I was very lucky.
I still fear death a little, but something, somehow,(maybe someone,) seems to be watching over us all. If I must die, I figure I'll get help ! ? I'll be ok.

I am afraid of the pain of dying. And I'm not happy about loved ones missing me- especially my kids. But my biggest fear about dying is standing before God because I know that even though he loves me, I am a filthy minded sinful person.

no, not at all, i have had a wonderful life and i am a christian, so dying would be better than living her on earth for me. That is not to say that I am ready to die right now. I would love to live to a very old age 90's to see grandchildren and great grandchildren. however, that is all up to God. God bless.

No, not in the sense of dread, but I am enjoying life and hope to keep on living to the fullest. I had a brush with death many years ago that was instructive. I was following my squad down a very steep mountain ravine in single file. Each man in front of me held onto a small, scrubby bush to swing out around a huge boulder that completely blocked the path. I took hold of the bush as I had seen the others do and leaped for the path ahead and down, but the bush pulled out in my hand, and I fell backward toward the bottom of the ravine far below. The rest of the squad thought I was surely dead. As I fell, I also thought I was going to be snuffed out by the fall. There was nothing I could do about it. No effort on my part would halt the fall. This realization gave me complete peace and relaxation as I fell. In the next instant, the springy branches of a large tree caught me and flipped me back onto the trail and I walked to the bottom where my buddies were trying to figure out how to get my dead body back to camp. Conclusion. There is nothing to worry about death. It is a natural process that happens to every mortal human. There is no hell. I live in hope and faith that there is another existence beyond this earthly one, but if I am wrong ("faith" is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen - Hebrews ) about the nature of man and God, then death is extinction - like switching off the light - no more of the vicisitudes of outrageous fortune.
I said something about like this once to a learned friend who replied, "But you have a strong god". I replied, "No, a very strong God has me. He holds me safely in his hand and I do not have to hang on, because he will not let me go." I live my life with belief in God's love for me and mine for Him.

No. Death is only of the physical and not of the Self who is eternal. Due to ignorance one thinks he or she has to die one day but is forgetful of that essence which never dies since it is always shining though its without form. Hence, there is no death in reality only the physical changes since this world is in flux and shall remain so due to space-time continuum. The eternal knower or the Self always remains constant and never dies.

Afraid? No.
Having said that, I'm certainly not looking forward to it either.

No what would be the point of fearing the inevitable. The last act of living is to die and I intend to experience it fully.

It's natural to be afraid to die.
However, we should not get paranoid
over it.
Death is what makes life so sacred.
It's nature's way.
We show up, when we show up.
And that's about the way it works.
It's out of our hands.
