My boyfriend and I have been going steady for about 7 l/2 years. We haven't married yet because of problems with my teen daughter. Nevertheless, whenever he introduces me to cashiers, strangers, or people he doesn't know, he introduces me as his WIFE instead of his girlfriend. When I ask him why he always does that, he says, "because I want to". Does his behavior hold any psychological significance? I just can't figure it out. Should I tell those people that I am his girlfriend and not his wife, or should I just "play along"?

I saw something very disturbing to me today a Wal-Mart. A young girl about six years old was complaining to her mother that she needed to go to the bathroom. I was hearing this from the next row over. The mother told the child NO that she was going to have to wait until they got home. The little girl complained that she had to go bad and had to go for a while. The monther after a few more words told her that if she did not shut up she would not get to go when they got home. I was in absolute horror hearing this. They left and I lost track of them in the store. I wondered if she made it or if she made her mother mad and was made to hold it even longer after getting home. I also wondered if this was the first time. Having this happen to me as a child I felt for the little girl and it brought back some old memories. I was wondering if anyone else has ever seen this or had it done to them.

Is it fate?

Is it just because reproduction?

I was just wondering if anyone found these women to be ugly. Everyone has their own ideal of attractiveness, but we also agree to some extent.

As a kid I asked if I was planned. Mom said no, she wanted to leave my Dad. The div. 2 yrs. later. She blatantly favors my older sister. They go on vacations, see and talk like friends etc. Even her kids are better.
Here's what I get: I lost weight, 15 lbs or so, which put me at 125-130 for 5ft 5in. She saw me in a bathing suit, said nothing.

Later at the neighbors ( I was dressed ) she brought up my weight. When the neighbor said I looked good, she had say "oh no she doesn't, she looks terrible etc.).
Why not say something before?

Because she has to criticize me every time I see her, preferably in front of others. She never says anything to my fat sister. If it's not my appearance then it's something else.

In Jan. she did it on the phone, I hung up. Everyone thinks I should call her. I think she should apologize.

If you had a friend that made you feel bad about yourself whenever you talked to them, would you still be friends with them?

Am I wrong?

Why do people say "I need to change my life etc.etc." but never make the change? Do they just enjoy you saying you should, you can do anything you want? You're great? They do it over and over again but yet change never happens, Do they just need a phsycological boost? What's the deal? The people who make the changes in life never say they're going to they just do it. As opposed to those who always say they need to change and never do. Why?

I can't stand to have friends who are friends with people I'm not friends with too. I get really jealous and feel ditched and hurt when he hangs out with his other friends. I know I can't be friends with his friends because I don't like them. This is probably because I really hate being ignored which, ironicly, is my life. Help!

I'm a first generation American. I went to an ivy league school and I am now in law school. When it comes to education or work I have no problem. However, outside of work and school I have no identity. Because I have no identity, it is tough to relate to people. I've date tons of girls in the past but I have never met their parents, although some have met mine. I feel like I'm a total exception that no one will accept. I don't think I will ever meet a girl who I can connect with beyond sex. Can you relate? Maybe I just need to sack up and quit whining, but I may be wrong...so what do you think? Actually the only place where I ever felt I belonged was in Europe

I was abused horribly as a kid. I asked my friend how that experience could possibly have benefitted me and he said that when I get mad it takes me a while to lash out. For example, lets say someone hits me or talks sh!t to me. I wont immediately hit back or I might not hit back at all. Its like I have no desire to retaliate with words or fists. Whats so good about having that kind of self-control and how did 6 yrs of abuse give me that? Wouldnt a person who went through that be a person ready to attack anyone who talked sh!t to them or hit them?
