i'm trying really hard to accept the fact that i'll never have what i long for but why is this so hard. i'm trying to be rational and sensible about it but oftentimes i get depressed instead.

what do i say to myself to get over it

thanks

Try finding something else to focus on like finding some volunteer work to do. Replace whatever this is that has you wrapped up with something that places your focus on something besides you and your thoughts. I suggest volunteering because if you find someone else to help who maybe has problems bigger than your own it could help push the thoughts that are bothering you aside because you'll be to busy helping someone else and in return hopefully you'll be left with a feeling of happiness and contentment from doing something selfless and good for someone else.

You ever heard "Time heals all wounds"? Well in most cases it does, or it just gets easier as you go along. Give yourself some time and really, truly the best way to over come something is to get involved giving out to those in need. When you begin to give rather than take you forget about yourself. I'm not saying this in a mean way, just want to help.

Learn the lesson that comes from whatever it was that happened, and move forward, that is really all you can do. Do what you can and move on. Hand it over to God, let go and let God, this always works for me. Stop beating yourself up, and get moving forward. Setting goals for yourself and do things that make you happy. What we want is not always what we need or what would be best for us. God knows what is best, and what we need. Good luck and God bless

Don't stand too long at that "closed door", or you'll miss the new one which has opened for you. Who knows? Then next opportunity may be a better and bigger one. :-)

Just because one door closes does not mean you don't have anymore such opportunities. You and you alone have the power to improve your own life.
