since i was born i always hear that Jesus christ will come back and very soon and now am 23 but i wonder how sooner is that couse i have failed to know the meaning of the word sooner which is used in the bible to describe Jesus christ's coming please is true that he will come ?and if the answer is yes then when is he coming?

I'm talking about guys with a troubled past.I have this constant craving to save guys from their self-destructive selves.None of the guys I'm refering to are violent or take drugs.It seems everytime one of them deals with their past,I lose interest and move on to the next troubled guy.Heaps of "normal" guys are interested in me but they don't interest me.What's wrong with me?

If during a therapy session, a patient mentions certain behaviours (that sound to the therapist like acts of rape or molestation etc), what is the therapists' (psychologist or psychiatrist) ethical position? Are they of confidentiality to the patient, or are they obligated to inform the authorities.?

I've seen a disturbing number of posts on Yahoo answers from young teens regarding sex & suicide and other dangerous issues. How do you respond (or do you) to these posts. I try to pray for these kids, but what can you say to a teen that will make a difference? (My kids range from newborn to 7 and I'm scared to death of their approaching teen years.)

I post this in psychology because I'm curious about it from a psychological perspective. The question springs from Pascal's Wager, but it applies to many other concepts too.

So, to ask it again: if there is something that you really want to believe in, but don't believe in, is it possible to 'force' that belief? How?

what kind of people are on this forum? this minister said people who abuse are justified in kicking your *** and that the abused need to take responsibility for getting their *** kicked for no reason. what kind of retarded nonsense **** is this? yeah im upset cause you people make no sense and have no morals? did oj's wife deserve to die, along with her pets? NO! do children who get beat by their abusive parents black and blue deserve it ? No! thats why there is DCFS to put you scum in check! Do women who end up in domestic/ battered shelters cause it and deserve it? No. Did the peoples of the holocaust deserve that?No Did African americans ask to suffer unbearable abuse by the hands of whites to gain equal rights and right to happiness, liberty & freddom we all deserve ? One time when I was looking for an address, I accidentally ended up in the basement of a funeral home, which contained offices of other businesses. MORBID, heh?!!! On the door of one of the (very small) offices was a sign that listed the names of about TEN people, followed by the title, "Systems Facilitators" in much the same manner as follows: Jones, F. R., Public Accountant. Because the city in which I live is a moderate size and not a metropolis, I recognized a number of the names as full-time faculty (with full-time jobs) in psychology and in educational psychology at the local university. I also recognized some other names as psychologists, in part because of some recent scandals that had badly tarnished the reputation of the mental health professions on a local level.

Why would these people have been taking on extra work as "systems facilitators"? What duties exactly does the job comprise? Would the fact that they were working in a funeral home be significant?

I've just been voting on some unresolved questions. In every case I discovered I had been the first person to vote and it reminded me of when I was a kid and used to go to the swimming baths as early as possible to be the first one to dive in to the perfectly smooth and still water.

The worm...that gets stabbed with a hook and drowned in the water and then get eaten by a fish?? Or.... Would you much rather be the fish the eats the worm...but gets a hook in the mouth...gets taken out of the water...gets it's neck broken and then gets eaten by the fisherman????? You must choose either the worm or the fish....which would you rather be???

I don't hear voices... Sometimes I hear my door open or it sounds like someone shuffling around the other end of the house...no one's ever there. Pretty often I'll be listening to my radio in the car and I SWEAR I hear my phone ringing. I hear it ringing whenever there's a constant noise around me. Sometimes I'll be half asleep and I'll hear someone say my name so loud it makes me fully awake.

My sister was diagnosed with mild schitzophrenia and acute paranoia. I'm pretty sure I'm atleast a little paranoid. But the biggest thing is that I have a 20% hearing loss in one hear and 40% in the other. Sometimes the ringing in my ear gets so loud I want to shoot myself. One time I was watching a movie and I swear I heard someone bumping up against my house. The moment I muted my TV it stopped. I know it wasn't coming from the movie cause I rewound it. No one's ever with me when I hear these things...

i told her that there is no excuse for anyone hitting her but she should examine herself to see why everyone would be hitting her.
i told her to be nice to people and they probably wouldn't hit her.
she even sent me a nasty e-mail and i think she's a real nut.
was i wrong to tell her the truth?

I have an older relative whom i last saw as a small child. We haven't talked for many years. I am trying to contact him; he is a Professor of Human Psychology. I'd like to be able to learn more about what he does; can someone give me a general description of the aforementioned field or refer me to some sites where I can find some helpful information?
