Legalise it. Decriminalize it.
Marijuana also has its medicinal values. If you think marijuana harms your health, then I'd say alcohol and cigs don't do anything better either. In fact, marijuana is probably safer than alcohol. Do you know in Netherlands, marijuana is decriminalized? It isn't a crime to own marijuana plant in small quantity for medicial purpose. Patients are allowed to keep marijuana plants and pharmacies (called coffeeshop there) are allowed to sell them. When the dutch decided to decriminalize it, much to the contrary, a surge in drugs abusers DID NOT occur. In fact, the numbers decreased and they're actually more abusers in the States where marijuana is still criminalized.
Marijuana is a soft drug, it does not lead to addiction. It only gives you a momentary high unlike heroin. The forbidden fruit theory? Criminalizing it will only make things worse. (:

I say legalize it.If alcohol has killed soooooooooooo many people,How many of them were high on pot?Not all that many. And even still,if you mix alcohol with it it is intensified 7 fold.I have yet to actually hear anyone get killed by someone who was high in an accident, unless it was the other persons fault.Marijuana does not impare any abbility nearly as much as just 3 beers do.I believe that if alcohol can be legal(even though drunks drivers kill sooooooooooooo many people a year) Then why the heck should marijuana still be illegal. With that said.I would also like to say, those who are saying that it can be sold to minors and all that, well alcohol gets into their hands too,and personally I would rather have my kid a pothead than a drunk.Plus alcohol kills even alcoholics, they get liver diseases and stuff like that, marijuana doesn't do that,it actually helps people who are sick. Not to mention alcohol, makes people jerks and I know,I have personal experience in that field.I never was like that but still...whoever says pot should not be legal is well kinda dumb, just considering alcohol is legal and pot is not.

I think marijuana should be legalized. It's not the fact that i think its good to smoke up all the time, but that we're all grown *** men and should be able to make our own decisions. "Land of the Free and Home of the Brave." Maybe i interpreted this wrong, but doesn't "free" mean that we can make whatever decisions we want, as long as we don't hurt other people? The "reason" marijuana is outlawed in the first place is because our government doesn't think the average person is responsible or mature enough to make the right decisions when it comes to getting high all the time or not. To be perfectly honest if somebody just sits around and gets stoned all the time for no reason other than the fact that they don't want to feel responsible for anything, then i think you have a psychological problem from your developemental stages.(If it was legalized, it would be easier for people to find these problem and fix them) We should recognize that is not the right thing to do. But I feel insulted that our government wants to restrict our freedom to do what some of us might want to do.

It should not be legalized. There has not been enough research on the side effects off long term use. Don't get me wrong its a use full drug and being stoned is nice sometimes but most people smoke it to escape then end up smoking to much over time (I smoked more than 2 ounces a week) and don't realize the side effects until its to late. Its not just it makes you paranoid you're behavior changes dramatically and so does you're thinking. I have lost some of my long and short term memory and Friends because of it and cant remember how to do certain things, (including some aspects of my job so I lost it) things I have done and I really regret causing that. So if it is legalized it will cost to much to research it and the government wont subsidies that.

If beer is legal why, not, I have never heard of a person being in a "marijuana" fury. The most potheads can do is get fat and have high Internet and cable bills. The Unemployment rate might go up but who cares. Our government should tax the living **** out of it and treat it like alcohol. No smoking/being intoxicated and driving=DUI, and illegal sales. Pot should be sold in certified stores, and people should be limited to how much they can have outside their home, and how many plants they can have also. Hey it will help support the war in Iraq since our country is trillions of dollars in debt. And comment for the idiots above saying pot makes people to horrible things, alcohol is worse, how many drunken fools are out there killing innocent families, get your facts straight hypocrites.

I don't smoke it anymore, but I think they should legalize it because it would cut down on crime a little and it would give the cops a chance to pick up people that are seriously doing something wrong. The only problem is that the government would probably end up taxing it and make it really expensive.

I think it should be legal for personal use on a grow your own basis. Any other way and the government will get their hands into it and I don't think any of the users really want that. I don't smoke or drink for that matter, but I figure for those people who need a crutch to get through life, it really doesn't matter whether its alcohol or pot.

Not really considering the things people try to use an excuse because they were high. For instance, a younger brother of my old neighbor was high and ended up shooting one of his friends. He said he didnt now what he was doing really because he was high. The kid didnt die or anything, but the fact that when this stuff gets into the hands of minors it can get out of hand so really I think they shouldnt legalize it.

Naw for real though f*** that mann, dont legalize it, i dont care what the people say cause there the people that are f***in thereselfs over ya know what im sayin...just like peace&love that seems like she's f***in yourself over no? It causes to much trouble...and i think it's ga* as hell, somebody in your oncoming generation..your family or anyone that is your kin has been affected in a (probably) not so good way by marijuana and if you have kids...or dont...you wouldnt be in favor for it either once you find out your kid is a dumb*** probably usuing one of those illegal drugs like that and will probably get sent out of school for it like the tons of kids at the district alternative school in trouble for it...all they did was f*** themselves over and will probably die ya know...naw im not in favor for it...i take favor for cigarrettes and cigars over it...weed just is to much trouble for teens and your son or daughter (if you have any or will have any) will probably be affected by it. I know im 15, about every teen i know does it...but those arent the ones i hang out with ya know. Its effecting the teens...and i cant let my son or daughter go down like that ya know...ill beat they a** lol. It just sends a badd image mann and smells hella badd, why legalize it mann...i rather see someone smoking an occasional enjoyable smoke like a cigar rather than the troublemaking drug weed ya know...Sorry for all the cussin its just that weed is...GA* AS HELL TO ME lol.Take it from Billy mann, he knows, all the rest of these people are on there way to where he is, good thing Billy realizes.. you're good mann billy...good mann lol

I think it should be legalized and taxed. Set up smoke bars. Designated smoking spots. I don't think people should be allowed to drive while under the influence. Same rules as alcohol. It causes less damage to your body than cigarettes do.
