Or is this a generalisation I just came up with?

Why not choose a less offensive word? "A natural response is to change the word feminist to a word with fewer stigmas attached. But inevitably the same thing will happen to that magical word. Part of the radical connotation of feminism is not due to the word, but to the action. The act of a woman standing up for herself is radical, whether she calls herself a feminist or not." - Paula Kamen, feminist

What would happen if we choose a less offensive word, to replace feminist? Do you agree with Paula Kamen's quote? Why or Why not?

"I'm not a feminist, but...
I appreciate the right to help choose my government representatives. I enjoy the option of wearing pants or shorts if I want. I'm pleased that I was allowed to learn to read and write. It can be very convenient to control how many babies I want to have. It's awfully useful to be able to open a bank account and own property in my name. I like knowing that my husband or boyfriend cannot legally beat me. It's really swell to keep the money that I earn." -poster from One Angry Girl-

Do you think this is how women who say "I'm not a feminist, but" think? Why or why not?

If abortion were illegal, that is, or if men had the right to have the woman go through with the pregnancy so they could raise it. Please note: I'm not asking SHOULD you, but rather, is it logical to expect that to always happen? If a woman doesn't want to be pregnant and resents being forced to go through with a pregnancy, can you expect that they'll always do all the things a pregnant woman has to do to ensure a healthy pregnancy, like pre-natal care, abstaining from smoking and drinking, etc? What about drug addicts? Can you expect that they will give up using drugs during the course of the pregnancy?

This is such a controversial and active area - questions are flying up every 2 seconds and I see so many users! Some people have good constructive comments, others are just here for fun.

I love Troll-Shark and Happy Snappy is just plain cheeky. I think Gnu S and Doc Rudy are very intelligent.

Do you have any favs?

I don't get this. Whenever a man on here asks why he can't have any reproductive rights feminists say if he doesn't want a kid, wear a condom etc. well, let's say abortion was made illegal tomorrow except in cases such as rape. Exactly how is it going to matter for women who use birth control? If using birth control is good enough reproductive rights for a man, then why isn't it for a woman?

Or are women looking for a free ticket to as much unprotected and irresponsible sex as they want?

If humans have a soul, when do pro-choice supporters believe that it exists? I'm convoluded on the issue, as I can't understand why having an umbilical cord attached constitutes a fetus, while detached constitutes a person.

What would you be willing to do to help with the rise of unwanted children being born? I don't mean this to be offensive, I seriously want to know what you think should be done, and what you would personally do. Contribute more money to social programs? And if so, what kind? Volunteer at group homes? Become a foster parent?

A valid question/argument or just more tu quoque/fallacy of relevancy tactics? I would think that a pro-life stance is right or wrong based upon it's own merits. The only thing that being pro-life necessarily entails is to not kill and unborn child. Was there something in the definition of pro-life about adoption that I missed?

Ladies, I'm sure you know how guys work, Everything about girls can turn a man on. We see cleavage and the top of your thong we get arroused. Bare breast and a Phat @ss we get arroused.

What I would like to know is what about men turns you on ? I have a series of Questions I would like answered if you would indulge me for a moment.

1- Men are turned on by the naked body of a woman like I have already mentioned. What about a man's body turns you on ?

2- A man can watch a women pleasure herself and find it arrousing. Does this also work for the ladies ?

3- Some men are turned on by two women kissing and getting it on. Now I already know some women DO find two guys "Sword fighting" arrousing. I would like to know your thoughts on the matter.

ties are for guys. I think that ties were invented by Turks that came on Balkan peninsula (thats what I heard) and MEN were wearing those ties. thats not for girls. I saw many girls in movies wearing a tie as a part of a school uniform. why they have to wear that? its for guys. its like if a guy is wearing a girly top.

then guys should wear skirts or anything thats more typical for females, because girls are wearing ties and they are typical for males. many male scottish people wear skirts, so why not?

skirts to boys
