trophy wife, what would you tell her?
and why?

Wicked: I agree with what you say but most men who have trophy wives don't have a lot of time for thier wife. How, would say such women should cope with that situation? ( and I don't mean sexually)

reddevil...: It's not just a label.

Lioness: Excellent points.

Rio: lol not saying you're wrong but you worded it very funny...but I think you crossed into "sugardaddy" land.

Dr. Zipper: Yes I know what you mean and agree those three hit it fairly right on *laughs* i didn't mean to get anyone started. :0) I also agree some responded in what appears to be anger at a position that many do choose to go into, i knew many would not agree but I had hoped more would set aside thier own notions and answer it hypothetically as a few did here, I believe Tera was one and i respect her for being able to do that.

For who? What kind of business is he into and who are you being shown off to?

Physically: Kept up, charming...gotta kill all other competition.

Mentally: lots of pressure and fear of being traded in for a newer model gotta be overcome

Emotionally: Feels lonely, so gotta get involved with a hobby or something you're passionate about.

On the positive/shallow side: You'll feel above most other women...and you can show off being with a man who has status---although this gets old rather quickly.

Wicked, Lioness, and Mafiagirl pretty much got it right. I would also add training to the mix. and you KNOW what I mean..... lol.

This question seems to have brought out a bitter streak in some of the gals. Looking down on someone for being a toy, when that can be quite fun at times. Of course they would NEVER say so... heheh. Look now, ya just about got me started...

What on earth are the qualifications of a trophy wife?
I just can't imagine any woman being an exemplary trophy wife without pretending...it's similiar to when an opposite sex couple have lots of sex and she always fakes the orgasms, just to make him believe he's some sort of sex god.
I'd tell her to quit the act, let her hair down and be herself.
Personally, I don't want to be a "perfect mate" and don't want one either, prefer transparency and honesty, in men and women.

Your question was interesting, as usual. :-)

Bleach your hair and your teeth as bright as they can get. They should be bright enough to scare little children.

Forget the fact that silicone implants can be carcinogenic. Your lips and your breasts NEED them. They need them RIGHT NOW.

Never frown. Actually, you probably won't have to worry about this part, not with all the Botox you're going to need.

You know that hot guy you've been checking out at the gym? Forget him — he won't die quickly enough. Try the old fart in the Armani suit who keeps using outdated pick-up lines on you at that fancy bar you always visit after work.

Speaking of which, quit work. You're not going to need that anymore.

Back to the old fart. Unless the rock he gives you isn't the size of your areola, dump him.

Make sure to hold the wedding in a country whose name you can't pronounce. That always makes big headlines.

Never complain. Act like everything is perfect. You married a rich guy and you have a great rack — what more do you want?

When he croaks, always remember the nasal sob. It's absolutely essential. As soon as the photographers are off your work, you can begin planning the shopping trips.

(Figuratively speaking here): I would tell her that "trophies" look very nice on shelves. But they get dusty and old after awhile- and often they get replaced by newer, bigger, nicer trophies...

I'd tell her that trophies don't have much fun sitting in one place all the time.

I'd tell her that someday, she's going to look back on her life and she's going to be sorry that she chose not to live it to it's fullest. You can't get back the time you've lost. You can, however, make the most of the time you have left. There's so much more to life than being someone else's show-piece. Don't sacrifice yourself completely to make someone else happy. You deserve some happiness and fulfillment yourself.

I could never imagine coaching someone on such a thing, mainly because I'm not really clear on the 'rules.' Isn't it just a label we place on women who seem to be somewhat used for their looks/charm etc by their husbands?

Well, I can give two answers to this question:

1) The simple one is for the wife to keep her husbands house clean, belly full, and balls empty.

2) Respect your husband as much as you love him. Be there for him when he is working hard. When he comes home tired, don't yell at him about things. Have dinner almost ready. If he works a double shift, take him dinner without being asked. Keep the house clean, clothes clean, kids taken care of. Pretty much do everything to support him before he thinks to ask. If he does ask for something, do it.

Looking hot is first and foremost. You can't be a trophy wife if you're dumpy looking. Next, you have to be likeable. Being happy, in a good mood, not nagging incessantly. This will make you stand apart, and hence be a trophy.

Don't worry about being intelligent, self-actualizing, or your own person. These qualities are unimportant.

DO work on some sort of skill, as you will inevitably be traded-in for a newer model.
