This is such a controversial and active area - questions are flying up every 2 seconds and I see so many users! Some people have good constructive comments, others are just here for fun.
I love Troll-Shark and Happy Snappy is just plain cheeky. I think Gnu S and Doc Rudy are very intelligent.

I think Happy Snappy IS Doc Rudy...but that's beside the point.
There are MANY great posters here: Patois, Flyinghorse, Baba Yaga, Rio, Sigy, Mantis, Super Ruper, Steven D., Bijou, Priscilla B., Lioness, Girly McRadical, Chani, Teeleecee, Miz D, Object of Its Ire, Kate Lomax, Devil's Adocette, Waswisgirl, Fraxinus, Ember Halo, Deirdre O, Ecogeek4ever, Franzia, Gnu S, Wendy G., Lighthouse, Kendrick, Troll Shark, Zikiru, the Sex Fairy, Steve Sider- (I know I'm forgetting many here and I'm sorry!)
Personal favorites would be hard to choose! I love Patois' intellectualism, Lioness is very diplomatic, Object of Its Ire has a strong personality and certain "outspokenness" that tends to crack me up, Kendrick is a sweetheart (and pretty good-looking if I dare say), Troll Shark makes me smile sometimes (laughter really IS the "best medicine"!), Mantis has a unique (and often quite hilarious) personality and wit, Devil's Advocette is very insightful, Super Ruper always gives a viewpoint that challenges us to see a unique perspective, the Sex Fairy has a "one track mind" (lol!), Sigy and Rio are young, smart, and therefore inspirational, Flyinghorse gets us thinking about social and moral issues, Steven D. gives intelligent answers... I could go on and on here...lol!

I've been impressed with the questions and comments of many posters here and I am rather hesitant to name just a few and omit others.
Devil's Advocette and Rebel F have challenged me and I've benefited from being challenged. Lioness and Dierdre O. have made me feel very welcomed (and now mwahh, TERA, and wendy have as well). Troll Shark has amused me, sometimes in spite of myself. Modest proposal often says things with which I disagree, but he's organized and clear in his presentation. Rio's pith and wit I admire, because I tend to be overly verbose.
And on that last point, I'll refrain from going further.

Steve_Sider wins my admiration for always "respectfully disagreeing."

Troll-shark brings a smile to my face for various reasons.
Otherwise, everyone here is just fantastic - they are passionate about what they think, they put it to you and they are willing to argue. Its the stimulation this area of answers provides that I enjoy so much.

for a good poster i'd be looking for someone well informed, or articulate in presenting a coherent point of view, or with a sense of proportion and perhaps a dash of humour.
for a great poster i'd be looking for all four. this narrows the field.
