There has been other girls, but I know this girl has it for sure, she told me. Also his wife said she has been having problems down there for a while, but clueless to his cheating, he told her it was just a urinary tract infection. Gross!!!

This is one of the questions exposed by Pierre Bourdieu( 2001) in his book: "Masculine Domination".

More explanation about the book:

Bourdieu analyses masculine domination as a paradigmatic form of symbolic violence - the kind of gentle, invisible, pervasive violence which is exercised through cognition and misrecognition, knowledge and sentiment, often with the unwitting consent of the dominated. According to Bordieu, to understand this form of domination we must analyse both its invariant features and the historical work of dehistoricization through which social institutions - family, school, church, state - eternalize the arbitrary at the root of men's power. This analysis leads directly to the political question: can we neutralize the mechanisms through which history is continuously turned into nature, thereby freeing the forces of change and accelerating the incipient transformations of the relations between the sexes?

Has anyone read it?

Thoughts?

What do you consider to be the most important aspect of your relationship? Other than the typical sex answer. When you first begin to date someone what are you looking for in a relationship?

Until about 6 or 7 years ago, I always wore pantyhose with my skirt suits for work each day at the office. Needless to say, with me dressing that way for work each day, my hubby developed a pretty intense curiousity for my pantyhose. Right around the time that my wardrobe transitioning to skirt suits and going bare legged with skirts, I was wearing pantyhose for work only on occasion. One one of those occasions that I was wearing them, I just asked him if he was so curious about the hose, why doesnt he just try them. I then hiked up my skirt, eased out of my sheers, handed them to him, and told him to slip them on. Well long story short, he went absolutely ga ga over the way they felt, which I thought was kind of neat. Hes asked a few more times recently for me to let him wear them again, but I dont want things to get out of hand. At the same time, I don't want to deny it to him because of how much he liked it that one time. How can I achieve a balance here?

1. Why do males open car doors for females?
Horse carriages back then were high and the doors were small. The roads were made of dirt. So, males offered to open the door while holding out his other hand to make it as a post. Then the female will hold her large prom like skirt while supporting herself on the arm post. Then she fixes her skirt in the carriage while the door shuts. If she did it on her own, it may of tripped, got dirty and obtain the skirt between the door. Today, if a man opens a car door for a female without any needs, he is not consider a gentleman. Only if they have a reason for help, elder, skirt etc.
2. Why open regular doors for females?
Same concept back then, the skirt to large. There is a reason and a guy offers to open and close it while she holds and fixes her skirt her way through.
3. Why push in/ pull out chairs for females at tables?
If they tried on their own, they would struggle getting themselves in and the skirt will get caught in the legs...

Rape is obviously an issue we've half-beaten to death on here, but this time around I would like to discuss the huge disparity in the accounts of how the rape victim and the accused rapist are treated by the police and judicial systems.

Some men's rights advocates say that (some?) women are able to press false charges, put on an act, and ruin a man's life for a trivial or petty reason. Some feminists, on the other hand, maintain that (most?) victims are "revictimized" by the police/judicial systems.

There must be some truth to both sides of the story. This question is an honest attempt at finding out how much stock can be placed in each claim.

With that noted, my question is: "How are those who report rape and those who are accused of rape treated by the police and the court system?"

Feel free to note how regional or any other differences play a role (if you find any evidence supporting such a claim). I'm particularly looking for useful sources if you can find any.

as a guy i can say men are for the most part VERY uncomfortable because of the whole size thing and the shallowness of some women.

but women seem to be okay with nudity. why is this? and if they DO feel self concious about that situation then what are they self conscious about?

i mean harmless situations like skinny dipping, strip poker etc. just clean fun between friends

I know an average woman is generally turned off for some obscure reason I don't want to fathom but I was wondering if feminist women take a more rational stance.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT FROM THE CHIMPS
http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1541283-4,00.html

Although the news was largely overshadowed by the impact of Hurricane Katrina... the publication of a rough draft of the chimp genome in the journal Nature immediately told scientists several important things. First they learned that overall, the sequences of base pairs that make up both species' [i.e., humans and chimps] genomes differ by 1.23% - a ringing confirmation of the 1970 estimates -- AND THAT THE MOST STRIKING DIVERGENCE BETWEEN THEM OCCURS, INTRIGUINGLY, IN THE Y CHROMOSOME PRESENT ONLY IN MALES.

There it is in black and white girls. Men are more evolved than women. Women are more like chimps than men are.

Maybe THAT is the reason for the stereotype that women are inferior. Because genetically speaking - THEY ARE.

What does this mean for feminism?

What is the toughest part of it ? Is putting an extra portion for hubby in the boiling water a strain on your back ? Is it Ironing more of what you were used to when you were singel ? Or is it hugging and cuddling your baby that wrings your arms out ?

Me again - the one who once said good-bye to GWS. I have questions for you.

I've noticed when people feel strongly about something they do ANYTHING to prove themselves right - which is fine (example - go to Politics. It gets pretty hot in there too).
I've posted a question with questionable references, and I admitted as such, but that didn't stop the flack.

So why, ladies and gentlemen, why the need to be so blantantly disrepectful and hateful? What do you get out of it?
How are we to "figure out" what the opposite sex wants when all we see posted on here is how horrible men/women are? There is no reasoning in this forum - just anger and hate.
What to do?

Besides getting turned in?

Here’s a question for men and women:

I know this falls into a sexual stereotype that most men prefer showers, and most women prefer baths, and I am guilty of preferring baths.

Gentlemen: do you prefer showers over baths?
Ladies: do you prefer baths over showers?

And if you were to shower/bathe with your sweetie, would you prefer the venue be the shower or the tub?

Just wanted to get us all back to a lighthearted look at the differences between men and women.

Can we stop with it men and women are "equal" just say, "don't discriminate." Don't show partiality, be fair. Something other than "equal."

We are *not* equal. Neither inferior nor superior. But, certainly not equal. It is not accurate and creates confusion.

Despite chanting equality, feminists (and others) will cite endless examples and articles about how different men and women are. "Women are better friends, men are more violent, men don't ask for directions, less emotional, women are physically weaker, etc."

Then, the same individuals will insist that you can't treat women like men. I don't. They aren't "equal."

Pls check the top several definitions of "equal" and that is precisely what the word means. Number 9 is "impartial."

So, why not simply demand non-discrimination fairness, and impartiality? Isn't that what is really wanted?
