The history of the original European witch hunts of the late 16th and early 17th centuries has become politicized. By the early 1900s, they were seen as outbreaks of hysteria fostered by a sinister and oppressive Catholic Church. Then, about 30 years ago, revisionist historians began to claim that the trials constituted a more systematic campaign by the patriarchal church to extinguish the remnants of goddess-worshiping pre-Christian religions by wiping out the people who preserved them: women, specifically folk healers and midwives...

The Inquisition was not greatly involved in witch burnings; it had its hands full with Protestants and other heretics, whom the church shrewdly perceived to be a far more serious threat to its power. In fact, while the justification for condemning witches was religious, and some religious figures joined in witch hunting campaigns, the trials were not run by churches of any denomination. They were largely held in civil courts and prosecuted by local...

Hey, I am all for freedom of speech, but these books would be better off if they were used for fuel instead of just letting the silverfish eat them up.

Why don't non-man-hating feminists distance themselves from the man-haters?

Why do they silently accept these people as members of the movement rather than rejecting them?

Why don't they speak out against their hateful ideology (if they truly disagree) as they do so on other issues? Unless they actually agree with them, silently.

IF most feminists truly do *not* hate men, why don't they do something to distance themselves from feminists who do?

For example: Men have it easier because they dont have to go through childbirth.

I notice a lot of this attitude and Id like to know why that is acceptable justification for anything for a couple of reasons:

1. Women's bodies are adapted for childbirth. You are anatomically prepared for it, its not like men just decided we didnt want the responsibility.

2. The most painful experience in life is being born! Giving birth you have soft tissue injuries, but when you are born your bones bend and your head is crushed. So I have experienced more pain than giving birth.

3. Nobody forces you to birth a child. When you decide you want a child, you also agree to deal with everything else that comes with it.

For the stated reasons, I find it ridiculous that giving birth be justification in any intergender discussions.

The women [and some men] who are obsessed w/shoes are reincarnated from the old chinese tradition of foot binding.
They can't get enough foot wear... and they subject themselves to the agony of spike heels.
Only someone who'd known true foot torture could consider wearing spikes all day as reasonable.
What do you think?

Some women are very "anti-women". I've never met a man that is anti-men. Whats this about?

...I don't know how to categorize this question. It is very delicate, and well, here goes.....When a full-term pregnant woman dies, is the baby taken from her body before burial? Thanks.

The reason, plainly, that most men in the U.S. will say that breasts are "private parts" or "sexual" is because breasts have been made into commodities. Capitalism likes it this way, of course. Men pay to see "titties," and women pay to have "sexier" "titties."
Can you envision a United States in which women can go top-free without being considered lewd or offensive?

Please before answering check the person's profile:

1- The account is recent. Let's say just a couple of days old and the person is already asking aggressive/insulting questions. This means it is probably a recurrent troll

2- The question is not serious, and it is obvious by the language and desire to attract negative attention.

3- They repeat the same questions/answers ad infinitum

4- They have multiple accounts three or more (I have a list I can give to you if you want)

Do you have other elements to consider?

Do you agree is better not to answer to them?

How to prevent other unaware posters to answer to these individuals?

For more details go to Yahoo Answers Forum. IF you have a suggestion post it there too

A lot of people now these days think that feminists are supposed to butch man-hating lesbians that want to strip women of their feminity. But, I think that's BS. That's like the extreme form of feminism, like how terrorism is the extreme and distorted form of Islam. Feminism to me is about the ethical and human treatment towards women and men, annot seeing one sex as being superior over the other.

Feminism is also about choice. You can still be womanly, sexual and be a feminist. If someone is telling you that you have to be a certain way to be feminist (such as dressing like a man), than that's just wrong.

What about the rest of you? Do you think that feminism simply means equality and choice, or do you think that true feminists have to be masculine and man-hating?

P.S. Some famous porn stars, Madonna and Christian Aguilera consider themselves feminists. ;)

I've been attacked a lot for my questions here, but I just think in regard to equality with men and women, it should be ALL or NOTHING.

this means if men and women are going to be equal it should be 100% equality across the board. And if not, then we should have gender roles. None of this "I want to get equal pay, but still not fight in wars" or "I want a strong manly man, but I don't want to cook or clean".

I feel like the feminists only want equality on certain issues

What is the purpose?

These three identify whether we have never been married, married, or previously married/NA. Men on the other hand, have “Mr.” It does not identify HIS marital status.

I don’t mind the last name change. I think that’s enough to link us to being married. But why do we also have to also identify ourselves as a Mrs.? The man doesn’t change a thing. He is still “Mr. Doe”, before he married and the same after he marries. “Mrs.” is an abbreviation of “Mr’s.”, ‘showing possession to Mr.’ I think it’s just as acceptable in addressing them Mr. & Ms. Doe. I think “Ms.” Is a great compromise. It comes across as equal to “Mr.”

You’re not denying that you are married (or not). We can be addressed equally without any personal connotation if we are involved with or without a spouse.

WHY do we have to labeled as such; or WHAT is the reason for having the 3 titles; OR tell me why we should or shouldn’t continue the usage of “Miss” or “Mrs.” Men: I’d be interested to know what you guys also think.

Women make all kinds of generalizations and insulting remarks toward men and most of us keep our cool. So why is it that any time you make a generalization about women (which has some truth like most generalizations) they go crazy with anger? Why can't women take criticism? You women are FAR from perfect so why are you so defensive?

Part of equality is being able to roll with the punches ladies :)

I have a couple of friends that are gay men, and it always seems that straight women hit on them when they go out for dinner, etc. Is it because gay men are generally good looking, well dressed, and well mannered?

My son is turning 18 soon and has recently begun dating. However his first girlfriend has very small breasts, probably an A-cup. Now god bless his heart, he loves her ever so much, but I'd like to set a firm precedent to avoid future heartbreak.

I wouldn't want him to be ridiculed by his friends and classmates for 'going out with a flatty' as I would have been back in my younger years. Unendowed females are also generally emotionally unstable due to low self-esteem (I don't want a teenage drama queen on my son's hands!)

My biggest worry is that many years down the line, their female children would be 'flat chicks' as well. I'd like my son to be a spittin' image of his old man, and to help him avoid some obvious mistakes.

Should I forbid him from dating her or let him figure it out for himself over time?

What is modern femininity?

Fake Boobs?
Being dangerously underweight?
Giggling and smiling a lot?
Having fake blonde hair?
Being submissive?

All these things seem as natural as a chimp in a suit to me, they seem to go AGAINST the essance of what a woman actually is.

Do you think there are any differences between modern femininity and classical femininity and do you think these differences are positive or negative. All answers welcome :)

I may be done now, but 9 times out of ten, the man is severely turned off by this.

Do you suppose it is gender instinct or cultural conditioning?
