Me again - the one who once said good-bye to GWS. I have questions for you.

I've noticed when people feel strongly about something they do ANYTHING to prove themselves right - which is fine (example - go to Politics. It gets pretty hot in there too).
I've posted a question with questionable references, and I admitted as such, but that didn't stop the flack.

So why, ladies and gentlemen, why the need to be so blantantly disrepectful and hateful? What do you get out of it?
How are we to "figure out" what the opposite sex wants when all we see posted on here is how horrible men/women are? There is no reasoning in this forum - just anger and hate.
What to do?

Besides getting turned in?

I'm pretty sure I'm one of the people that "gave you flack" when you posted that first rape question and never apologized for it in the following one, so I'll take this time to offer you my apologies.

To be a little more clear about the nature of this board, though, it's not all based on hatred- there are actually discussions that go on, but they don't really involve the desires of the sexes. They typically involve a social issue or some other point.

The probability of such a discussion happening is low, of course, and the rest of the space is filled with trolling or random and off topic posts. Such is the nature of the board, I guess.

As for what to do- the best advice is to ignore trolling posts and continue to post useful questions. It's easy enough to ignore trolling but more difficult, I've found, to come up with useful questions pertaining to the subject. You can look at this from a number of perspectives- I take it to essentially mean that feminism in the West has just about completed its job.

Howdy Mellie...Welcome back although I didn't know you ever left...

As far as my observationalist skills go, seems to me YA is nothing more than a good idea gone down the tubes...

It isn't that's theres so much disrespect and hate out there, as it just seems the place has more than its share of kids and addle-minded youths and adults thinking that anything and everything they say and do is okay, and have their say on what has become nothing more than another open forum on rants and raves....

(Craigslist gets boring too afer awhile)

So sure, you can hang around the merry-go-round play ground it's become....Of the 75-80% goof-offs and morons posting q's and a's -- Still there's the other 50% who really do ask for and receive actual help and assistance with their albeit 'non-unique' problems....

As far as figuring out what the opposite sex wants, puhleeze, it isn't ever or even going to be found anywhere on YA no matter how long it or we stay in existence. That's just foolish thinking and iterant wishing at its best or worse as the case may be...

If anything, at times, no doubt some people do hook up to carry on civil and more indepth conversations off YA. As a consolation, I suppose that's better than nothing. And not so much a waste of one's time after all....

But for now, it's just a game...And one in which anyone can either choose to participate in or sit on the sidelines and mope on about....

In any event,

Thanks for reading!

Keep smiling & have fun, eh?!

;-)

My opinion is that there is a basic lack of respect of others in society today. From trying to weave among the shoppers at the grocery store, those who act like they are the only ones in the store, oblivious to the fact that they are blocking the entire aisle to the way people drive, risking not only their life but other's as well to 'place jumping' in queues and many other venues of interaction.

Everyone thinks they are not only right, but that everyone who disagrees is just wrong without even listening to their viewpoint.

Of course, it all depends on whose ox is being gored.

I'm only going to answer one question. We CANNOT "figure out" what the opposite sex wants, because there are more differences within the groups as there are between the groups. All women want different things, all men want different things.
