My car wouldn't start several times over the past few months. At first I could wait a few minutes and then it would start. Later on, I would be stuck somewhere for hours because it wouldn't start. I ended up getting the starter replaced last week which cost me about $100.

Hmm.. Well, I finally smoked the engine on my old 95 Saturn. It had over 200,000 miles anyway so I got my money's worth. My replacement Saturn is a bit of a 'fixer-upper' as it sat for two years and was a repo. It had two broken motor mounts and now it's got a faulty sensor somewhere causing it to rev too high. But, I got it for a steal and figured I'd have a few things to fix with it. I just don't feel like bringing it to the autoparts store for a diagnostic. I'll get around to it next week. My old 1980's Nissan pickup though is still running great as usual. That things a tank.
I always get a diagnostic before I bring it in for repairs and a part price so that I don't get scammed when I bring it in.

The battery on the '05 Malibu Maxx died randomly, so I tested it. Sure enough, it was bad! So I replaced it.

Then, the power steering pump in the Chevelle went out. Pretty simple troubles, really, you know, the small stuff that can be expected of a 37 year old car! lol

We finally had a break from all the rain, so I had the chance to replace it.

Two weeks ago I had an issue with a burned valve. I had my mechanic run a compression test. There was little compression so I knew a value was not sealing correctly. It was quite simply for him to simply remove the head and replace the valve and the valve seat. I requested a complete valve job at the same time because the rest of the valves and guides probably need attention, too. He agreed and it was done. My car runs so much better now....word to the wise .... Intrepids are aggravating with their valves ....lol

Recently one night while driving home from my son's baseball game a deer ran in front of me and I killed it. Just got my car back from $6,000 worth of repairs. I guess that doesn't represent too much damage. I was lucky it did not hurt me, it hit the windshield, but did not come through. Most of the damage was to the front end of my car, although the hoof put a crease in the hood. The state patrol officer said they do not give tickets for hitting animals as it is almost impossible to miss them, and my insurance company said hitting an animal is the one accident that does not increase your insurance rates. So I pretty much lucked out all the way around.

I love Guy (that's the name of my car).

I remember being super little and hearing Maddona sing, "Fancy car's & diamond rings you know they never last no-no" ... Well, Guy has outlived 2 boyfriends, 1 cat, and daddy. I think Maddona was mistaken.

Anyways, I treat Guy like a Prince ... since he treats me like a Princess ... you know, always opening the door 4 me ... making sure I have secure lighting, and he copes with my music wheather it be the Bloodhound Gang to my aerobic mix's.

Anyways, I always check his oil, have a chart on what to do and when ... and I take special car of him. So, I don't anticipate car problems ... but if I do, then I will buy Guy a good mechanic (I've finally found one!!!)

My breaks started messing up. Took a whole lot to get the car to stop, I could push the break pedal almost all the way down to the floor. My breaks were not grinding though.

My husband took a look and turns out it needed break fluid and the breaks bled. I felt like a real dumb ***!

The only trouble I've had was with my local dealership's service people. They lied to me about my power steering fluid leaking, and another leak in my water pump that they said would require replacing the entire thing.

Of course, they were assuming that I didn't know how to look under the hood myself. Needless to say, they were lying, I took it to my friend who is a mechanic and got one of the valves leading to the water pump replaced, and had him check to make sure my power steering fluid wasn't leaking. It wasn't.

Saved myself almost $2000. It never fails to amaze me how much people are willing to lie to each other, just to make a buck.

I have car trouble on a regular basis! LOL

Right now my suspension is shot, and by passenger side door handle just broke off on the inside. Thank goodness for salvage yards!

Had the "check engine" light come on which ended up being the an emissions problem. Now the brake lights are coming on and staying on.
