Over the last few years I've noticed a disturbing trend towards how men are treated and responses to things men say.
For instance, women can joke about how stupid and unnecessary men are, but if a guy makes any joke involving words like "kitchen", each nearby woman's ears will perk up and heads will turn.
The other day I was in a debate about equal treatment and I brought up the topic of rape, and the woman I was debating with said men shouldn't ever have a place for rape counseling because they never get raped and because they do all the raping.
Since when does that kind of attitude fly? Yet I brought that up to fellow-classmates and many sided with the girl.
There are laws discriminating against men, there are social standards for men still being enforced by both genders, and there's a huge gender bias in how our kids are taught and treated in school.
I believe in equal rights, but it's getting ridiculous now. Men can't do anything without being afraid of legal repercussions.
