No, I don't find it the least bit interesting since I've known that for YEARS. I probably learned that lesson, that money talks and BS walks, the same time that I was toilet trained so I'm not the least bit interested to find that anybody cares when JR Rowling noticed or even if she noticed.

J.K. Rowling.

If you're just learning the lesson NOW that people like knowing famous people, I have to wonder what cave you've been living in since birth.

That just seems to be the case almost everywhere. People tend to want to get to know famous people. They feel famous by proxy.
That's how you can tell who your real friends are. If they were willing to get to know you when you weren't popular, they probably have a genuine interest in you.

No, I found it rather banal. There is no lesson to be learned here; unless the lesson that this is the way of the world.

perhaps people who would give her attention just weren't aware of her presense, until she became popular.

but i do get what you're saying and think that it's at least somewhat the case.
