over that lisa diaz case? the woman murdered her two children and pleaded {what else?} insanity. she spent three years in a mental home and is now free as a bird. that's nothing but a LIGHT slap on the wrist. have children's lives become so cheap? and not to get political, but we all know that if it was a man who drowned his two kids, he'd be sitting on death row.

it really makes me sick what our country has turned into. children are no longer safe from their own mothers and women teachers can no longer be trusted around children. is this what feminism has brought us??

Feminism in our society is largely responsible for women having priorities other than their children and/or family. Carreers are quite often the priority, but it can be something else. Feminism is very selfish in nature...which is exactly what it takes to be able to do away with somebody elses life.

what has feminism got to do with anything.
ofcourse murder is not justifiable in any way (including capital punishment), but what do you know about this woman?
To be honest, you knon only of one thing that she has done in her life.
How can think you can outrightly that her plea of insanity was false?
To be sure, there are definately those people who claim insanity because they know a few years in a mental institution are easier than a few more years in jail, but how can you know if this applies to this lady.

feminism has nothing to do with this lady pleading insanity and getting three years in a mental instituion.
many men aswell as women plead insanity, and it isn't just the women who are believed.

you sound like a woman hater.
at the end of the day, two children have died, and whether you like it or not, you will never fully understand the reasons, so it's better not to judge!

Unfortunately, anyone can abuse the justice system by claiming insanity. My co-workers were murdered by a man who made a conscious decision to go off of his anti-psychotic medicine and ended up killing 5 people. He is now sitting in a nice, cushy, mental facility until he is "able" to stand trial. During his arraignment, his only comments to the judge about what he did were that he wasn't allowed the proper time to groom himself and that his hair was a mess.

I don't think that women alone are responsible for the sick society that we live in. I think that "Due Process" has become a burdensome process, period. Anyone can manipulate the law and take advantage of other people and get away with it. It sucks.

Chill.

There are these horrible events that occur, but there are thousands of events that are wonderful. They are not reported by the media. The world is alive, and healthy, and Man-Bear-Pig and Lisa Diaz are an extremely small part of the mundane media blitz. If you are really concerned about helping young people, I would suggest that you might consider volunteering your time, talents and efforts in programs that have been set up in your community that help our youth.

Take your outrage and make it useful!

And vote properly.

(PS:John Walsh didn't just get outraged. He got busy.)

She did say that she thought the world was too ugly, and she wanted her children to be in heaven and away from this world.
In a way, she did it for her children. But she still needs to learn, you can't murder people like that. Who knows what she would murder because she loves them too much next? When will they learn that better safe than sorry? Will another two kids have to be drowned for them to put her into a institution or jail for life?

I don't see how feminism has brought any of this. You're thinking of lawyers. Shame on you and others for completely taking for granted all the hard work our foremothers have done for us! Females weren't even allowed to vote a few decades ago! Think about this please. And fishman... you're a moron.

Edit - In reply to you fishman... wow, that really got me thinking.... if anyone could say a one liner that didn't contribute at all to the debate, it would be you. How about you get some substance behind what you say?

I don't think it has anything to do with feminism...but I wasn't aware she was out and no, 3 yrs in a mental facility wasn't sufficient punishment...

But don't worry, our justice system may have failed her kids...but karma won't...

well, who determines right and wrong? who determines how the world is run? as outrageous as this can get, will people ever bother, so long as it doesn't happen to them? you're right, the world is corrupt.

by the way, what makes you think females are any more harmless than males?
