This theme, often played up in movies creates a stereotype. Are there sensitve, emotionally stiffled Indian women suffering in a silent web of patriarchy and tradition or has liberation reached the villages as well? Whenever I meet Indian women in the US and Europe, they all seem so full of life and energy in addition to being beautiful.

For instance, men always devalue women, treat them as "commodites" and as objects. As such, it can be argued that women are considered a "lesser" sex/gender, something on the bottom rungs of a social/political/economic ladder, with men on top. How can women break free from these bottom rings and move up the latter? (Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology).

Seats.
The one with the big ole hole in it and the other, which serves as the lid or a seat.

Now I know men leave the seat up, Right? Right.

When women use the toilet I have noticed they leave the lid up and the seat down.
Men on the other hand leave both the lid and seat up.

But pray tell, what is the difference?

Men have since time began left the seat up. So the ladies ought to know to check to besure the seat is down.

I know peeing on the seat is offensive to the ladies and i admit it is to me to, see that, that is why I always lift the seat, and admit, do not always put it down.

So then, How come the women do not put the lid down if they are so adament about putting the seat down?
It is not are fault your pretty little bottom gets wet.

To clarify about the false claims that should be prosecuted. There are some statistics that say that there have been about 250,000 calls a year for help in domestic violence issues but if just 1 in 20 are (or frivolous calls) thats about 12,500 calls from 1993-2003 wasting time and resources and ruining people reputations. Sometimes to be accused for domestic violence can leave you out of favor with your employer and getting dragged through court for weeks could leave you without a job along with the court costs. Should the *knowingly* false claimant be made liable to pay court costs and lawyers fees in addition to being responsible for lost wages and if unable to pay they should serve community service equivalent to the amount of money they owe. If he lost 7 months wages from the false accusation then the claimant should serve 7 months of community service along with a fine and court fees. Would that be fair?

When I was a young fella (bloody long time ago) footloose and fancy free... I had a theory, that was often discussed between me and my mates (buddies for the benefit of those in the USA)... that if a young lady had slender ankles, she would retain a good figure as the years passed by, whereupon if she had less than slender ankles, she would increase her weight... the reason... that the ankles would need to be stouter in order to carry the additional weight later.

What are your opinions of this very unscientific theory?

Have you ever met someone who does not have the common curtousy to watch what they say the majority of the time? One who speaks their mind and after hurting someone says they care but could not help it. It is usually after-the-fact they feel guilty about things, but at the time they are doing it, they do not realize it.

This person is usually depressed but when is around people does not show it. She is one not to put on shows, but some would think otherwise. She generally is an open-minded person who tends to be obnoxious with what she does and says.

I would say she is hyper 70% of the time and cranky 30%. Now this is not saying those are her only two characteristics, but ones which stand out the most.

How does one cope with this?
How would you explain this female's actions/issues?

Much of the questions being asked in the Women's Studies area has nothing to do with Women's Studies. They're mostly just silly "horny questions" being asked by young men and women who know nothing about what this section has to do with? Grrr!!
