Wow, what an incredible insensitive jerk you are! She is probably grumpy because she feel lousy, has stress from a homework assignment and...and this is the big one...is married to you!
Stop being so selfish and do whatever it takes to make her life easier. Get her tea and something good to eat that will soothe her stomach. Assist her with her homework.
Clean up the house, occupy the kids and get a better attitude.

yeah pretend to delete her assignment if it's on the computer! that should see the sparks fly, or rename her assignment to a differnent file and then retype the words GRIBBLE GRIBBLE GRIBBLE instead of the essay and then save it as the original document and that just could finnish her. But honistly I would make her a nice hot drink of honey and lemon juice a couple of paracetamol and some ibruprofen as they both act well together put some relaxing music on and help her out

For the past month I've had the flu, my daughter's had the flu and I am currently battling another bout of bad PMT, so I've missed a lot of uni....so tell her to quit her griping until she's got something worth griping about, or just send her to bed.

Yup, she could go through grumpy into shouty angry pouty mode and if you push too hard you'll hit the sobbing, you don't love me, nobody cares crisis point. Never underestimate the emotional volatility of a woman under pressure.
Oh and whatever you do, don't let her see this question!

she could stub her toe, and you could inadvertantly make her feel bad about her physical appearance, or comment on the fact that she's grumpy (which translates to her being an inferior wife). Then watch as her head explodes.

Oh god yes women can always get grumpier this shouldnt suprise you and it will seem like no matter what you do it wont be right, ask her if you can do anything to help her and give her lots of TLC, hope this helps:)
