Seats.
The one with the big ole hole in it and the other, which serves as the lid or a seat.

Now I know men leave the seat up, Right? Right.

When women use the toilet I have noticed they leave the lid up and the seat down.
Men on the other hand leave both the lid and seat up.

But pray tell, what is the difference?

Men have since time began left the seat up. So the ladies ought to know to check to besure the seat is down.

I know peeing on the seat is offensive to the ladies and i admit it is to me to, see that, that is why I always lift the seat, and admit, do not always put it down.

So then, How come the women do not put the lid down if they are so adament about putting the seat down?
It is not are fault your pretty little bottom gets wet.

Honestly, I prefer the toilet seat to be left up to prevent any peeing on it. I have no major problem putting the seat down but I really, really don't like cleaning up a peed on seat.

Both the seat and lid should be down when you are finished. I know some men who like to just leave it all up because it is easier, but seriously, if you live with a woman or want female visitors - just think of pleasing them. It just seems gross when you walk into a bathroom and the lid and seat are up! That will turn any woman off... If you do feel the need to leave the lid up so you can see the water, make sure you keep your toilet extremely clean. However, like others mentioned, putting the lid down does ensure that random things that get knocked off the sink area or the shelves don't fall into the toilet - who likes to search the toilet for lost items? Not I for one. It also does look nice if you put the lid down, especially if you have a nice soft lid cover for it. Especially one that matches the bathmat and the towels, and the soap holder and the toothbrush holder... Putting the lid down is just part of what makes an aesthetically (sorry about the spelling) pleasing bathroom.

The lid and seat should BOTH be down (unless in use, of course). Any civilized person knows this. What, were you raised by wolves? to do otherwise is just unseemly.
Oh, and the whole "look where you're sitting" thing? Kinda hard to do at three o'clock in the morn, MORE than half asleep, in complete darkness. I've been shocked fully awake a couple of times, by taking an unexpected "splash" in the the john. May seem funny now, (and I guess it is) but I found little humor in it at the time.

I have taught my husband well, he now puts not only the seat but the lid down BEFORE flushing. When you leave the lid up and then flush water sprays up to eight feet away! Not only water but bacteria such as E. Coli and feces. It is disgusting to even think about the toothbrush that may be laying on the counter next to the toilet. Do a test, put glass (like a mirror) next to the toilet for about a week and flush with the lid up. See the results, I'm sure the sight of the mirror will stick in your mind forever and will make you want to put the LID DOWN BEFORE FLUSHING!!!

You're right. The lid should also be down. It just looks cleaner that way and prevents things falling into it by accident. But most women just worry about the seat and I can't really say why except that we can fall into it. Though it's kind of obvious and I, at least, always look before seating. As for peeing on the seat, you should pee INTO the toilet and the rims should never be peed on, or should be wiped if it's accidentally sprayed. It's just common sense and sanitary. I broke up with a boyfriend because he couldn't seem to understand why it bothered me to find pee on my toilet... I just couldn't live with someone so disrespectful of personal hygene.

There are 2 common complaints by women when it comes to toilets and men. First i will explain these complaints, then dissect the problems, and finally, offer up a solution. Let me know what you think.

EXPLAINATION
1. Women complain about guys peeing on the toilet seat. They claim it is the GUYS fault and that he needs to lift the seat before peeing.

2. Women complain that guys don't put the seat down after peeing and they accidently sit in the open bowl. They, once again, claim that it is the GUYS fault and that he needs to remember to put the seat down after peeing.

DISSECTION
1. Guys enter the bathroom, glance down and see an open hole, and pee. They don't look to see if a seat is present.

2. Women enter the bathroom, glance down and see an open hole, and sit. They don't look to see if a seat is present.

Notice how women fail to take responisbilty for their dilemma in the second scenario? How many times do you think guys have accidentaly sat IN the bowl. Not very many on MY end, actually, I can't remember it happening to me EVER. I look before I leap.

SOLUTION
We should all take a vow to, when we are finished, close the LID of the toilet, not just the seat. It would elliminate both problems and it also looks nicer for the seat to be closed in the first place.

What do you guys think? Anyone else have a progressive solution?

I always put the seat and lid down. I do this because I had a cat that was trying to drink out of the toilet, fell in and closed the lid on herself when she tried to get out.

I have brothers so I don't care if I find the seat & lid up or down as long as it is dry. I always look before I sit down.

I had made an agreement with my fiance to put the seat and lid down after finished, it just looks better and more sanitary, also keep the likelihood of things falling into the toilet at a minimum. Guess who followed and guess who did not follow?

I followed through, with the occasional lapse of course, no one is perfect.

She almost never touched it. Ever.

I would like to see what the result is if you have made your agreement with your girl, and everyone.

the two the seat and lid would desire to be down once you're complete. i understand some adult males who opt to in basic terms go away all of it up because of the fact is extra handy, yet heavily, in case you reside with a woman or desire woman travelers - only think of of eye-catching them. It only seems gross once you walk right into a bathing room and the lid and seat are up! which will turn any woman off... in case you do experience the would desire to go away the lid up so which you will discover the water, be certain you hold your rest room quite sparkling. regardless of the undeniable fact that, like others stated, putting the lid down does be certain that random issues that get knocked off the sink section or the cabinets do no longer fall into the rest room - who likes to seek the rest room for lost products? no longer I for one. It additionally does look valuable in case you place the lid down, incredibly in case you have a valuable comfortable lid cover for it. incredibly one that suits the bathmat and the towels, and the cleansing soap holder and the toothbrush holder... putting the lid down is only component of what makes an aesthetically (sorry bearing directly to the spelling) eye-catching bathing room.

This is the quirkiest question yet... Being a woman, I must admit I leave the lid up most of the time and the seat down all the time. If the lid and the seat are both up when "WE" go in to use the toilet we fall in. and that porcelain is COLD. So let's just keep the lid up and the seat down. YEAH... That sounds good to me. This was a good question though. THANKS!!!!
