To clarify about the false claims that should be prosecuted. There are some statistics that say that there have been about 250,000 calls a year for help in domestic violence issues but if just 1 in 20 are (or frivolous calls) thats about 12,500 calls from 1993-2003 wasting time and resources and ruining people reputations. Sometimes to be accused for domestic violence can leave you out of favor with your employer and getting dragged through court for weeks could leave you without a job along with the court costs. Should the *knowingly* false claimant be made liable to pay court costs and lawyers fees in addition to being responsible for lost wages and if unable to pay they should serve community service equivalent to the amount of money they owe. If he lost 7 months wages from the false accusation then the claimant should serve 7 months of community service along with a fine and court fees. Would that be fair?

I can understand if she was unsure if it was guy A or guy B in the line-up but if a woman reports a man for a crime that did not happen or they had a consentual "booty call" but later after he decides not to commit to a relationship she classifies it to be rape to save face. If she was laughing, joking and makes him promise to call her later physical encounter. Not crying locked in the bathroom type of episode. There is no shadow of doubt in that. What are your thoughts?

That's easy. ALL people who file false claims should be prosecuted..it is, BTW, illegal. And men who have suffered negative consequences from this should sue for defamation of character. Who would argue with that? And "feminist law" states otherwise? That's ridiculous.

How do You tell the family of an 18yr old boy that he killed himself in His cell after having been bashed and raped in the showers whilst on remand for a crime that not not only did He not commit, but which had never taken place and was in fact based entirely upon the word of a woman who had lied about Him? Feminist logic tells us that it was better for Him to have been held in custody than for a female to be questioned properly.
Of course women should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

You can recoup financial losses to you as the result of false accusations in civil court. In some cases criminal charges are filed against anyone filing a false police report. I should happen more often.

YES! I had this happen to someone close to me, a woman who was a friend of ours said that my husband hit her. She said it to cover for her married lover and she's done it to an ambulance driver and a nurse too. All of them had to take lie detectors that they passed and NOTHING was done to her. These people should be criminally charged AND pay restitution.

I see your point, but it would discourage women who are in danger from calling the police, in case the abuse couldn't be proved. I think, yes, they should be liable if there is definite and clear proof that the call was frivolous, but not if there is room for doubt.
