The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

If you don't send this to at least 8 people....Who cares?

.it seems that everyone views suicide as a selfish dishonorable act yet no one seems to understand the pure anguish and hell i seem to go through...ive thought about killing myself for years..i came very close several times but stopped in fear that i would just injure myself for life instead of finishing the job..suicide seems to be such a taboo in todays society and whenever someone talks about it they just get put down even more....im going to kill myself without a doubt..sometime soon..i know what it will put my family through and i kno its only a "permanent solution to a temporary problem" but im tired of struggling everyday to make it ...ive seen plenty of doctors been in the hospital and been on every psychotic drug there is..nothing has helped...im thinking bout just going all out and swallowing hundreds of pills then a gun to the head..please dont preach to me..but im just curious on ppls thoughts and opionions

Psychiatrists have classified me as one. But its not my choice and I have to exercise complete and total control over myself every waking hour to be even remotely acceptable to society and i still manage to mess that up by becoming extremely violent with some moron who pissed me off and then become totally calm again, or when i see some woman crying for her lost child, i laugh and could care less...she should have had her eyes on the child....

its not by choice that i am like this, but i have been ever since i can remember...the thing is, i control myself...so why is it when people find out what i am, they act like i have some deadly contagious disease like sars or the bird flu? not only that but they start avoiding eye contact....that actually makes it worse and harder to control

Hi, I need another example to prove that primates, including humans are innately aggressive, violent, fiercely protective of territory and property and warlike. The example I have is male Hamadryas baboons fight with each other to obtain or preserve their female harems. Can anyone think of another example

If I go to the movies, someone has to sit right in front of me. If I am sitting at a bar, someone has to sit right next to me. When I park at the mall, I always park as far away as I can, but you guessed it, some one always parks right beside me.

Why?

Has anyone besides me had a dream where they died in it? What were the circumstances? I myself have died twice in a dream. Once when I fell off a cliff and landed on a tree. Death was swift and instantanious. The other time I was shot while robbing a bank. Death was slow and painful.

I'm usually pretty good at disecting my dreams, but this one has me stumped. This dream has be occuring for the past 10 days.

I find myself standing alone, facing a tall, beautiful male, with long white hair and porcelain skin. As efiminate as this sounds, this man is not efeminate at all - but blindingly perfect. (Which is why I associate his image as being angelic.) In a perfectly natural, fluid motion I find myself enveloped by him, glowing and radiant, his sweet smell is intoxicating, and then he kisses me for what seems an eternity, and I'm filled with such pure joy, I never want to end and then I realize that it is night, but I never saw the darkness for his radiance, and when the sun begins to rise he releases me and promises to return. And right after he disapates into the light of dawn, I wake up. It's not a sexy dream in the slightest; and when I wake I feel so bright, and fresh, and happy to the point of giddiness.

Any suggestions?

What's your take on the following: I'm back in high school, but in my dream I'm my current age, which is 34. I'm trying to conceal my age because I'm embaressed. I remember walking around, passing through the cafeteria and kitchen. The halls twisted around on themselves like a maze, and I became lost. I entered a classroom, but they weren't typical classes. To get to the next class, I had to cross through the first. One of the classes was a class for constructing props for stage and TV, and in the center of the floor was this huge head of plaster/styrofoam. I passed from that room into another that had a partially built private jet against one wall. The room resembled a hanger, and it was somewhat dark. I remember trying to hide behind the airplane for some reason. A male teacher (or authority figure) approached and asked me what I was doing. I stood up from hiding and told him that I was lost, and was trying to find my way out. The man then pointed to the exit.

So say a couple has two kids, both of them are biological. Then they decide to adopt a third kid who is say 12...

Would it be fair to the adopted kid if the parents naturally love their biological children more?

Would it be fair to the biological children if the parents love all the children equally, and the attention was distributed equally even though the adopted child has been part of the family for a shorter period of time?

Do you think it is possible, if you have kids already to love an adopted child that old equally to your own children?

Just needing some ideas...

Thanks.

So I keep having these dreams about a guy, not any guy in particular, and in the dreams I do see his face but when I wake up it's blurry and can't remember what he looks like.
The dreams vary, but usually it ends up that we meet in some random way (Like I forget my debit card somewhere, he returns it to me and we spend the day together)

I have been feeling really lonely lately, maybe it's just out of desperation? Or could it mean that something is going to happen?
