What's your take on the following: I'm back in high school, but in my dream I'm my current age, which is 34. I'm trying to conceal my age because I'm embaressed. I remember walking around, passing through the cafeteria and kitchen. The halls twisted around on themselves like a maze, and I became lost. I entered a classroom, but they weren't typical classes. To get to the next class, I had to cross through the first. One of the classes was a class for constructing props for stage and TV, and in the center of the floor was this huge head of plaster/styrofoam. I passed from that room into another that had a partially built private jet against one wall. The room resembled a hanger, and it was somewhat dark. I remember trying to hide behind the airplane for some reason. A male teacher (or authority figure) approached and asked me what I was doing. I stood up from hiding and told him that I was lost, and was trying to find my way out. The man then pointed to the exit.

High school is a learning environment. Even at 34 (or 94) you are in one. Embarassment at your age and still in high school is evidence of a bit of naivete. (The hallmark of maturity is knowledge that everyday is the first time you've ever lived it. ) The cafeteria and kitchen are places for the preparation and partaking of nourishment. Learning environments provide nourishment for living our lives. The class for constructing props is reflective of the sorts of things we do when we chose the roles and story-lines for our personal cosmic dramas. Everyone has a personal story-line and that story-line has to have the appropriate props. We interpret the events in our lives to make sense in our story line - hence the learning environment provides opportunities to learn about creating "props". The giant head might just be representative of the life process of shaping one's identity. On the other hand, it might be one of those dream-puns about having the "big-head". (vanity) Finally, the hangar-like class room with the half-constructed private jet is representative of your ideas, the flights of fancy and imagination that one is always constructing, and sometimes boards and flies in dreams. That you are hiding behind the plane but are found out by the teacher/authority figure makes me think that you are more than half afraid that your ideas are flights of fancy and that you have no right to them. The authority figure may be a composite of authorities in your past who put-down your ideas, or it may be your "better sense". I would suspect that when this figure pointed to the exit you either woke up or the dream scene changed.

Now, as I said earlier, we are always learning. Rather than being embarrassed about "taking lessons" at 34, you might consider taking some pride in still learning and growing. The bit about building props for stage and TV can be taken as deception, but "setting the stage" is also an important part of one's real drama- of not only acting, but Being the person you'd like to be. And as for the half-built private jet, keep working on it. You do belong in there. If it doesnt fly yet then you have more work to do. There had better be, if at 34 you've gotten where you want to go, it's gonna be a long retirement and even laurels aren't that comfortable to rest on...
