I'm curious what the response is to this article:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=442113&in_page_id=1770

To summarize, a UK government report is seeking to have female criminals released from prison, even killers, and put into more friendly "family units." It contains some interesting quotes:

Lady Corston, formerly chairman of the Parliamentary Labour Party, sought to justify the shake-up by claiming custody is "disproportionately harsher" on women.

And this:

The report claims: "Women and men are different. Equal treatment of men and women does not result in equal outcomes."

So what would the feminist response to this be? Lady Corston claims that it's justifiable because female criminals are DV victims, and that treating men and women equally produces unequal results. Assuming it's true, is the former justified? The latter? Let's hear some thoughts.

This question has raged for several thousand years. I believe now we are the point of equality within society in which we can state as regards to the human race a clear winner in the battle of the sexes - and the winner is.............?

Statistics show this. I'm just wondering how true it might be. Tell me about yourself (in your relationship) as well as your thoughts on the matter.

I teach my kids that they CAN do whatever they choose, it is up the THEM.

Why do feminists continuously promote an “I CAN’T do because you won't LET me” mentality?

This teaches our girls that no matter what they do, they are merely puppets to be manipulated by an evil world that conspires to keep them down.

Why don’t feminists at least acknowledge that choices in life have some impact on their outcomes?

That is, if s/he chooses to drop out of the workforce (for whatever reason) for months or years, that just might have some impact on his/her professional development (time does not stand still). It could be the best of reasons, but still. . .

Nonetheless, the person (male or female) that is the most motivated and, most importantly, the most productive will be able to ‘demand’ higher wages, greater autonomy in time and location of work?

For instance, the production of ethanol will cause a rise not only in the price of corn, but in chicken (which eats corn), etc. How resistent do you think the average American will be to the rising prices associated with our independence from oil?

I've been reading in my child psych book that there is a sort of ceiling for being socially well adjusted and being gifted. They say that most gifted kids do not have social problems, but that those who are extremely gifted with an IQ of like 150-160 or above or who show extreme creative talent have a really hard time with social adjustment. That they often feel isolated from their peer group, unchallegned by their school work and are more likely to have emotional/behavioral problems and be underachivers.

So if you were a gifted child, do you think your gift was also a curse? Do you think you would have been happier or better adjusted if you were normal?

I came out of the station and this guy had a strange look on his face while he was looking at this middle aged couple (black male and white female) behind me. He never said anything, he just stared. I wasn't getting good vibes, could it be racism or am I just being silly?

I dreamt about a room full of mattresses. The mattresses had dead bodies in them. All the mattresses were on fire. I was able to pure water on my mattress to extinguish the fire. I was advising other people but they weren't trying to extinguish the fire within their own mattresses. Someone told me she'll take my corpse, and it is okay for me to leave. They will stay where they are.

Someone told me that we laugh at other peoples misfortune and stupidity as it is a pack behaviour, similar to a pack of wolves snarling at a sick wolf to get it out of the pack in order to prevent it spreading infection.
