I read the rest of the advice and I agree with it. Look at your good qualities and remind yourself about them often.
I'd like to add one more thing. STOP CRITICIZING YOURSELF FOR ANYTHING and/or EVERYTHING, NO MATTER WHAT.
Make a list (WRITE IT DOWN) of all the negative things you say to yourself, all of your self-criticisms. Then go over the list and try to figure out why you criticize yourself for that and when you started. You will find most of your SELF-criticisms originally came from someone else criticizing you and now you are just repeating what they said. Ask yourself if the criticism is really true. If it's not true than stop criticizing yourself about it. If it is true, and you WANT TO change it (say you're sloppy and want to be neater) than make the change and stop criticizing yourself for it. If it's true and you DON'T WANT TO change it or cannot (maybe you think you're too short or too tall), then stop criticizing yourself about it.
Finally, take a little time each day to tell yourself that you love yourself. Stand in front of the mirror and look yourself in the eye and tell yourself that you love yourself. Doing this will bring all of your negative thoughts, feelings and beliefs about yourself to the surface, and may even make you cry. It may take some time, but if you are consistent you will begin to feel the love you have for yourself.

Try writing a journal each night where you can only say positive things about yourself. The subject of every entry is how great you are. Combine this activity with a treat. A nice bath a candy, something to help motivate you to write the journal every night. And read some of you past entries everymorning. Stay creative. If you spend the time you'll find lots of things you like about yourself that you didn't know were there.

Well you really gotta stop caring what people think. What I had to do when I had low self-esteem is I tried to just put myself out there and introduce myself to people and I learned that people aren't as scary as I thought. When you wake up look in the mirror and speak outloud "My name is _______ and I am a beautiful and wonderful girl." Eventually you will believe yourself and the problem will be solved :). Now of course we are always going to have those days where we wake up and think OH MY GOSH IM UGLY!!! its normal :)...But just hang in there and remember you're BEAUTIFUL!!! Inside and out!!!

I think the best way is to make small goals for yourself and then strive to meet them. Every time you do, you will be rewarded with higher self-esteem and you will begin to think of yourself as being able to accompliush whatever you set out to do.

Keep reminding yourself of your great qualities. Try to improve on your flaws, and do not take seriously any insults or degrading words people hurl at you. They only do it cause they are insecure! You can do it!!!
