Multinational corporations - are much maligned, sometimes justifiably so, for their roles in taking advantage of corrupt political circumstance and forcing integration on small developing nations not yet ready for it. At the same time, they are the most effective means of diffusion of ideas and new technologies, which ultimately are necessary for the development of much of the world.

Multinational persons - ie, expatriates. Well, I do think they are, for the most part, necessary, particularly when they are hired through the expensive process of obtaining Visas and such. However, those who enter unofficially to do work below market wages are often only filling unmet demand in the sense that they are fulfilling the desire of employers to operate outside of the restrictions of a competitive market (ie, to pay below-market wages).

Need them! Need multinational corps. for economic growth on both ends of the deal. The corporation gains global markets and profits. The nation where they integrate gets jobs and exposure to more products and services. Multinational workers? Need them! There are jobs that Americans just don't want or won't do, and these folks help keep industries alive by providing the much needed labor. I know this first hand because I sponsor H2-B visas each year for legal labor solutions.
