Most sociologists argue that human behavior is triggered by many social factors since you have the internet, television, radio, and print media. If society has a hand in this it's how the information is getting out to the general public and how people internalize a lot of the information that is out there.

We as humans place value on looks and levels of attractiveness to get ahead in the world. We look at certain ethnic groups behavior wise to categorize other factors since a lot of the prejudicially based views came from a lot of human behavioral traits. We allow society to determine what is right and correct behavior.

Nature means everything you do is genetic. Everything from the way you put your hand in your pocket to the way you speak is pre-programed into your DNA before you are born. There is no way to change your actions, unless that change is already imprinted into you DNA.

Nurture means everything is learned. You are born with a blank slate that society fills in. This begins from the moment you are born. Evolution cannot exist under the purist theory of nurture because your brain does not carry any sort of predetermined coding passed down from generation to generation. The only reason you act like your parents is because you spend so much time with them.

The reality is somewhere towards the center: People do carry genetics that determines, at least in part, who and what they are. But the society one is raised in effects how one uses these gifts.

Start with potty training. It grinds us to have to repress our natural instinct so as to satisfy a demand that is definetly social. How about schooling? Teaching other humans to have socially acceptable conducts so as to live in peace with each other, not the mention of all the coartations we have to undergo to survive in society today.
