Could someone explain the steps of how sound is made? Does vibration cause energy, or does energy create the vibration?

Thanks!

Why is this?

what scientists do bizarre research if so which ones and what do they research?

We have often heard the argument that privately funded research is suspect because the scientists who are employed by private firms have a profit motive, and that they are predisposed to give answers consistent with their bosses' goals. But isn't that also true of scientists who are funded by government grants? Are they not motivated by the grant money and predisposed to give answers consistent with the goals of the grantor?

Your thoughts?

(I am posting this in two categories: politics and science. I'm interested if the science community has a different general opinion from the more politically inclined.)

I have been wanting to become involved in the neuroscience field for a long time, and am trying to find a good way to get myself set in a career for Neural engineering. (before i go any further it should be noted that i am only in 8th grade). I have been searching around, but since Neuroscience is a relatively new field, i have been studying up a bit on Neurology. If anyone has any idea on good Neuroscientific colleges (especially those highly involved in neural engineering), books/rescources, or information in general, i would be happy if you told me. This is not to be confused with neurology, the medical field of neurological diseases.

i have a project for school where i have to make a device that can measure a minute of time. it can go over a minute, i just have to know when a minute is also with 5 or 10 second intervals. it needs to be creative and not mimic other time devices like a hour glass. and it doesn't need to be too fancy. okay thank you!!!!

I really think it generates more heat than when your clothes are on and I don't mean from any movement or action. I mean strictly laying there. Now that I am telling him, "what a line." He says they teach that in survival school. (He was in the special forces and in the army for a spell.) Does this lack of outer covering actually working against the generation of body heat make sense to you? Any explanations? And do not mention sex causing heat; I am talking about no movement or friction involved. Just plain laying there. Does it generate more heat without clothes on than with clothes on?

Weird question. I know.

Im pretty sure black mold can attach to aluminum and discolor it? Can it do this to stainless steel as well? If so, does it just discolor it or does it embed itself into it? Can it be cleaned? I think I might have some in a pan that I left out a little damp overnight.

It has been many years since a muslim scientist has come up with any major scientific breakthrough. A muslim Iranian physicist, Reza Mansouri, suggests that this is because of the cultural influences of islamic communities, such as the same word for religious scholar (in arabic) is used for the scientific scholar. Also, he suggests that because Islam is so influential, many muslims only study the sciences to help understand God and to understand religious concepts. He also points out that there are no universities from muslim countries in the top 200 in the world.

What are your views on this? Is there any other reason for the lack of muslim contribution to science in the past 6 centuries?

All imput would be welcome, but please note i will report anything that is racist.
