does anyone know a better place to ask higher level science questions? I don't like plaguing my profs w/ questions, but often the hard questions I ask, or that other ppl ask, don't get good answers here.

There are forums and groups online.

For starters, there's yahoo groups.
For more, search google with "**** forum" where **** is a subject. e.g. physics forum, or biology forum.

Sometimes hard questions do get good answers here. Try again in a couple days. I can't keep up with all of them. If I knew of a better place, I'd contribute there. Find some contributors here whose answers you do respect, and contact them directly. I check my email even when I don't have time to wade through the stupid questions and posted homework assignments here.

Try craigslist.com, science and math forum. Or ask your profs to suggest a good book or paper on the subject of interest.
