I'm building a dollhouse. The scale is 1/2 inch= 1 foot. What is the equivalent using the metric system? A lot of the companies I'm looking at online are not in the U.S. and I'm not sure which scale to use. Thanks for the help!

I heard several years ago, that either the Skunk Works or NASA JPL had managed to create small amounts of Antimatter. If I understand the physics correctly, a matter/antimatter bomb could very well be the most powerful explosive device in all of history. I was just hoping and Praying no such device exists.

There are some natural places in the world that you go to and there is a consensus of opinion that it creates a special 'feeling' for most people. I do not mean awe and wonder at man made sites, but in the natural world we (meaning most people from very young to very old) 'feel' something different.
What is this called in scientific terms Energetics, thermodynamics, reaction kinetics, Holmgren's maximum power principle etc? PS Layman's terms please I do not have scientific background.

Black holes suck, Nikola Tesla was AC/DC or for a good time call microbiolist Dr. Ana Phase, she knows how to reproduce. I was at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry today for an exhibit and I noticed there had been writing washed off one of the stalls in the restroom, and I had a Gary Larson moment wondering what kind of things young scientists consider graffitti.

I asked this question before but it was removed for some reason and I didn't get an answer. Does anyone know a simple formula for converting celsius to farenheight?

Science doesn't enter discussion about intelligent design, or astrology simply because there's no real evidence to say it's real...so doesn't that implicitly mean there's no god? (else science would explore it as it does everything else it can show evidence to be real)

I'm trying to figure out a way so I can collect the money. That much money might not be worth the effort though. Can someone help me out with this. I'll split the reward. In fact, i only take $20,000 and you can have the rest. What say you?

I'm a vegetarian but I'm also a biochemist in training. A large part of my work is to do with genetic engineering and pharmaceutical research.

To test a lot of things, it's necessary to use animal models.

While furthering medical advances seems like a more worthy cause for animal suffering than a hamburger, I'm wondering how other vegetarians working in science cope with the necessary fact of animal research?
