you are getting confused. a helium balloon is a normal balloon filled with heliun gas, so if you fill a balloon with air it will just be a normal balloon. however if you have a helium balloon, ie a balloon that is already filled with helium and then pump in air, then the balloon will most probably pop, depending on how much air you put in. The balloon will be filled with a mixture of air and helium prior to bursting and may float, depending on the relative volumes of each substance in the balloon.

If you fill it with helium it will float, if you fill it with air it will not. Helium is lighter than air.

ps the pressure inside an air inflated balloon and hence the density is not the same as the density outside. The pressure is the same when uninflated. It takes pressure to inflate a ballon and the pressurisation makes the air more dense.

For helium, even when under pressure of a balloon its density is still lower than air.

It will inflate, but it won't rise, as the air inside is the same density as the air outside.

what??! a 'helium' balloon will inflate no matter what gas you fill it with.
however, it will fly only if you fill it with a gas/mixture of gases that is lighter than air.

Yes but it wont float..dont know why you would want to do this.
You know that most Card/party shops would fill a small baloon for you?. I assume you are just talking about a small amount rather than airship quantities?
