The naive answer is 'yes' but I'd say 'no'. It certainly produces compression waves in the air. But if no living thing (capable of hearing) is there to 'hear' it, there is no sensation of sound ever produced.

Please note:
1. No polar bears or penguins!
2.There can be recording devices, but such devices merely produce a physical record of the physical effect of the compression waves striking it. No sensation of sound is 'captured' by such devices.

Please, I'm trying to prove my science teacher wrong here. Last year, I heard the statement (from a teacher) that every human's brain is the exact same size. My teacher says that's hogwash, but is it hogwash?

I had previously posted a question asking what the global outcome would be if less people would die while the birth rate stayed the same (within their respective countries).

If there was for some reason, a situation where nobody traded goods with each other, who would be the ones left standing?
(ie - middle eastern countries have oil/gas, but not much food variety)
Will technology be put on the back burner in exchange for a more agrarian way of life? Would we as a race be able to uphold the civility that we built up to that point, or would we actually degenerate to a world much like that in Mad Max? Would the documents in which each country was built upon still be valid or followed? Would people be torn between their Country and their Motherland...and would they/you decide to stay or go knowing that you may have family there?

The year shouldn't be base off any religious fanatic propaganda icons its crazed. It should be off of real evidence, 365days, and not 6,000 year. Its too long, but its too late. Earth is 4.5 bill years, we can somehow make it really short writing in just like our equations right?

If they had the chance go back in time, and tell them change the year to 4.5bill woud you do it why?

Just as a thought experiment, I thought I'd start comparing shelf space in bookstores.
Science section vs New Age and Religious section.
Admittedly, the results for one bookstore are not scientific.
But they are pretty much what I expected to find.
Science-1 (4 row shelf)
New Age-3 (4 row shelves)
Religion-3 (3 row shelves)
Bibles-1 (3 row shelves)
Now regardless of your religious or spiritual beliefs, Do You
1. Have a similar situation in your local bookstore?
2. Think that the results will change with a bigger sampling?
3. Think that this says something about how effective science is at popularizing it's message/findings?

By distilling it without using electricity or any other power source other then the sun. Could this be used to harvest the salt left over from the process as well? Would this work in any bright hot sunny area close enough to the ocean to pipe sea water to it? Wouldn't building enough of these generate enough water be able to turn the deserts of the middle east into gardens and fields bringing prosperiety to the people there and produce enough fresh clean water and food to end world thirst, hunger and help end world poverty? Wouldn't this also work well for Austrailia especially considering the once in a thousend years level drought they've been stuck in and help end terrorism at the same time because it would end those root causes that lead to it?

Many people have accepted this theory to be a foundation for knowledge. It seems to me this subtracts from the objectivity a scientist should have in order to uncover truth. I am no expert on this subject and am truly asking so I may understand better the viewpoints of others.
