One thing that the color of flame tells you is how hot the flame is. Blue flame is much hotter than yellow. Gas burns at a higher temperature than candle wax and wicks.

The burner is dirty and not getting enough air. If you are burning propane, the tip of the flame will be yellow. This is normal. The whole flame should not be yellow. If it is, this is because of the same problem (lack of oxygen) as with natural gas. Burning with insufficient air is bad for the burner (it will cause soot buildup, which will make the problem worse). It is also dangerous. Incomplete combustion (burning gas without enough air) not only produces a yellow flame, but it also produces carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide is odorless and colorless, but it will kill you. Stop using the stove until it can be serviced.

Natural gas is mostly methane, CH4, a relatively small molecule which can combine with oxygen in the air almost completely. A good methane flame is blue which does indicate heat. If improperly adjusted it can burn yellow and is giving off carbon and carbon monoxide.
A candle is parafin wax, a large hydrocarbon molecule with 18 carbons in its chain. It takes more oxygen to burn completely. If you put a nonflamable object in the flame you will see that it is giving off quite a bit of black carbon soot. The flame is cooler.

It depends on how much oxygen is involved in the flame. A candle is exposed to a room full of oxygen. A gas burner is a force feed device that eliminates all the oxygen except for what is necessary for ignition.

When the fuel used is not fully burned it produses a yellow flame. Not only candles but also wrongly tinued gas cookers too produce a yellow flame. This happens when the supplied Oxygen amount is lower than the amount that is needed.

it is because of complete and incomplete combustion of substances
gas flame is blue because of complete combustion thts y it does not produce smoke
candle flame is yellow because of incomplete combustion thts y it produces smoke
