So basically within the past couple weeks I have had major joint pain mostly starting in the back and has now come to the ankles, knees, hips especially and some shoulder pain. I have not gained a lot of weight, pretty positive I am not growing anymore, no known diseases and no eating disorders. I consume a ton of calcium but is arthritis possible? Please no suggestions of a chiropractor I went to one who adjusted me once and then wanted me on a "plan" for a year which cost $4,000 only adding to the suspicions of quackery. Supplement suggestions are encouraged and experience is welcomed as well. Should I see a doctor?

I have been on Levoxyl for the past few weeks, and I have to take 325mg of Iron pills everyday. The Levoxyl I have to take everyday for the rest of my life. I have gotten very constipated from the Iron pills, and I drink a full glass of water everyday but doesn't seem to help it. My medicaiton requires a full glass of water when taking the Levoxyl. I know Iron is important for the body, but what does it mean exactly?I am a 23/f and weigh 98 pounds. I have always been small. I was diadnosed with being anemic when I was pregant in 2003. So I have always had low iron every since then and probably before that. If anyone has experience in this sort of situation please let me know what to do and help me understand more about it. Thanks!!!

What are the norms values for these?
QT/QTS: 340/438 s
P-R-T axes: 242 31
What are the norms for the above?

I understand the QRS interval if prolonged indicates (ventricular?) ischemia (heart block). Been trying to get the norms for the above. Just trying to understand very basics and the meaning of the cited values.

i have had a Urinary Tract Infection for the past 7 days, and i was taking an antibiotic called Vactrum. However my doctors office changed the prescription. I THINK the name of the new medicine is called Fudatrin And Nyoanthin. Something like that, not exactly. All i know is that It is an antibiotic used to treat urinary tract infections it is a liquid, it may turn urine brown, it may cuase drowsiness, and some side effects that should be reported to a doctor are dizziness, fever, chills, trembling of the fingers, rash, and chest pain. About an hour after i took the medication i started having a mild burning sensation on the left side of my right breast. I told my mom, but she says i am just imagining it beacuase i was already unsure of the medication beacause it cost 400 dollars, and even though it was an antibiotic it caused drowsiness. It is nightime and my mom said not to bug her. What should i do? It might just be heartburn. I am twelve if it makes any diference.

The current treatment paradigm for allergic asthma involves the use of corticosteroids and beta-adrenergic agonists such as albuterol. Explain why this treatment method may actually be making this disease worse.

I'm considering doing so, but am just curious about what it entails. And yes, I know it is a great thing to do and I should do it, so you don't need to include that in your answer. THanks!

My sister is currently in medical school and I am helping a doctor learn English...hearing about their experiences and the experiences of the doctors they know really makes me wonder if I would like to be one. I am a good student, and a workaholic, but I don't know if I could be a slave to my career for the rest of my life. The field I am most interested in is dermatology, if that helps.

Do you like being a doctor, or is it--as I hear often--"Not what is used to be?"

I've found that my eyes are not very tolerant of contact lenses as they age and I have to throw them away a little earlier than the literature suggests. A "year's supply," even of some of the nicer brands, usually only lasts me 8 or 9 months.

Does that mean that I have to go in for fittings every 8 months?

I guess I just don't understand whether you "use up" your prescription by ordering lenses or whether you can keep ordering them as needed throughout the prescription period. It'd be great to be just be able to order boxes in the quantity I actually use them... better still to be able to say "ok, I ran out of lenses, order me another 6 months worth" up to the very day when my prescription expires.

Anyone know how this works?
