You cannot split oxycontin without getting too much of the dose at once.

You CAN split open an adderall capsule, since the capsule has nothing to do with when the beads dissolve.

You CANNOT split wellbutrin.

You CAN split Kadian Morphine.

If you have any specific drugs, message me.

Hope that helped =)

Typically, not many XR formulations can be broken without destroying the integrity of the XR system and causing too much of the drug to be released at once. If an XR tablet is film-coated, then definitely do not split it. Generally, if a tablet has a score mark on it, then it is okay to break it. If an XR tablet is scored, then it is a matrix formulation (meaning the polymer system is in the tablet core and not an outer layer). Tablets are compressed with score marks to make splitting them easier.

Almost all extended release medications depend on their outer layer to distribute the medicine over time. that means when you split the pill, you circumvent any time release effects that may have been intended.

In short, no extended release medications should be split.

to play it safe, really none. Most of them have part encapsulated in chemicals that are digested at a given rate. You break into the outer covering, and you destroy the system.
