i often think about space and the universe, people say that space never ends, but everything has a beginning and an end, and if space did end, what would be beyond that, and if space does never end, how on earth can we be the only planet with life. i know alot of people don't like discussing this because it rubbishes religious beliefs but what would happen to our planet if we found out that there is other intelligent life out there, surely this would mean that alot of wars that have centered around religion were totally pointless.

I know I know. The earth's gravity overrides the theorized attraction of these two items. Consider then, that the conditions were perfect. We set two small items- say, lead sinkers of relative, scale mass and distance of the earth and the moon, in deep space- hundreds of lightyears away from any gravitational interfearance. We then start these objects spinning in a perfect orbit. Do the objects continue to orbit each other? Or do they drift apart? If, by chance, the objects do not attract each other, how is it that atoms and molecules hold together in the same circumstances?

Over centeries man as gazed upon the stars asking many questions, so here's a question for you to think about on a rainy day- 'What shape do YOU think our Universe is?' Feel free to speak your mind, there's no proven right answer.

Thanks

The Big Bang theory implies that our universe was created from a chaotic state. In my opinion, scientist have contradicted themselves.

Not the yearly passage, but over a period of say 1000 years. Also, is there a recurring pattern in addition to the earths normal pattern (something like a tidal phenomena - getting ever closer at its closest point, and then ever further at its farthest point, then being slowly 'pushed back' again, but always staying on approximately the same path around the sun overall)
