Is it so that the Sun is not in the middle of the elliptical orbit of the earth? How is it possible that we have only one summer in a year, when earth comes close to sun twice in a year?

I saw a program on the Science channel called "The Universe" on it was the category the moon, how it came to be.

That made me think about something else, what if there was a really large moon somewhere in the universe and there was a planet circling that moon that was 1/4 the size of the moon.

Is that possible, is it possible for it to hold life if its sun is the right distance away and it had the right type of living conditions needed for life?

I would like to hear thoughts, theories and opinions, unless they are malicious at me for asking this question.

This may be a dumb question, but if the supernova remnant (the Crab Nebula, for example, which is theorized to be the remnant of a star that was recorded as having been witnessed exploding in 1054 A.D.) was once one star, then how can many stars form and continue forming from the remaining material (not even all of the material) of the one original star?

Ok, on the videos of the men walking on the moon, you can see through their bodies and see the other side where the moon and the lander and such and such, are. Does anybody know why this phenomenon occurs?

I own a celestron nexstar telescope. I really don't know much about space and basically got it just so I could peek at the stars. I own three lenses with which I can get an awesome view of the moon but cannot see any other planets sharply, with my most powerfull lense mars is still just a very bright star. So I was wondering if it is possible to get an even more magnifying lens which would allow me to see other planets more clearly. If you have any suggestions or links it would be greatly appreciated

Something must be blocking it. It can't be the sun, or you would see that shining.
