Has there every been any theories, or experiments done to try pedict the outcome, would it just be an extremely high frequency electromagnetic pulse?

If so what does a high frequency electromagnetic pulse have the capacity or potential to do?

The wikipedia explaination describes the build up of energy as a 'photonic shockwave' this may be what i was looking for.

It's called Cherenkov radiation. When light or another em wave travels through a medium, it is slowed down. If something is travelling faster than light in the medium it gives off this "boom".

There is none. EM radiation does not travel through a medium like sound so there's no equivalent.
