Two cars start off at the same point on a straight highway facing opposite directions. Each car drives for 6 miles, takes a left turn, and drives for 8 miles. How far apart are the two cars?

2 miles
11 miles
14 miles
20 miles
26 miles

Do you know the answer? I've been working on it since forever! If you do know the answer, can you share? And please include a rough explanation. Not a long one. Many thanks.

I'm going to need to take a blood test at the hospital that checks for TB, because I'm going to start volunteering. The thing is, is that I smoke pot occasionally...How long before the test do I need to stop smoking, or do I even need to worry about it showing up? Can they tell if you've been smoking if they're looking for TB?

Ignoring U, and assuming Q=0

A spring has spring constant k=100N/m

a) Find displacement y produced by external force F=(-10)N.

b) Find total mechanical energy of mass+spring if oscillating with amplitude 10cm.

c) Find transfer by working for mass+spring when you move spring from 15cm to 5cm, assuming no change in kinetic energy.

I get:

a) (-0.1)m

b) 0.5J

c) (-1)J

I would just like some feedback on these answers thank you.

Are human's today basically genetically the same as human's 1,000 years ago? 5,000 years ago? 10,000 years ago? 20,000 years ago?

People tend to believe the people today are superior in strength and intelligence but is this not only true because we have built opon the achievements of those before us? Is it not true that humans 1,000's of years ago were the same with the same capacity for intelligence. Human's have not evolved in hundreds of thousands of years. Is this not true? The only evolution has been in our technology and knowledge that has accumulated over time by learning from our predecessors, right? No technological knowledge is inate, just learned from those wh invented things and those who made them better. If humans today were put in a world with no technology would it not take them a similar rate to get back to the point that we are at now?

Find an expression for the change in entropy when two blocks of the same substance and of equal mass, one at temperature Th and the other at Tc are brought into thermal contact and allowed to reach equilibrium. Evaluate the change for two blocks of copper, each of mass 500 g with heat capacity of 24.4 JK^-1, taking Th=500K and Tc=250K. Thank you very much for responds

The combustion of 0.1571 g benzoic acid increases the temperature of a bomb calorimeter by 2.67°C. Calculate the heat capacity of this calorimeter. (The energy released by combustion of benzoic acid is 26.42 kJ/g.)?

A 0.2170 g sample of vanillin (C8H8O3) is then burned in the same calorimeter, and the temperature increases by 3.29°C. What is the energy of combustion per gram of vanillin?

A 1.397 g sample of thymol, C10H14O(s) (a preservative and a mold and mildew preventative), is burned in a bomb calorimeter assembly. The temperature increase is 11.23°C, and the heat capacity of the bomb calorimeter is 4.68 kJ/°C. What is the heat of combustion of thymol, expressed in kilojoules per mole of C10H14O?

Salicylic acid, C7H6O3, has been suggested as a calorimetric standard. Its heat of combustion is -3.023 103 kJ/mol C7H6O3. From the following data determine the heat capacity of a bomb calorimeter assembly (that is, the bomb, water, stirrer, thermometer, wires, and so forth).

mass of salicylic acid burned: 1.111 g
initial calorimeter temperature: 23.07°C
final calorimeter temperature: 29.55°C

In a coffee-cup calorimeter, 1.20 g of NH4NO3 is mixed with 76.0 g of water at an initial temperature of 25.00°C. After dissolution of the salt, the final temperature of the calorimeter contents is 23.21°C. Assuming the solution has a heat capacity of 4.18 J/°C·g and assuming no heat loss to the calorimeter, calculate the enthalpy change for the dissolution of NH4NO3 in units of kJ/mol.

something is bothering me, I don't know if it's real or coincidence, but sometimes I can guess what will happen to some things If I focus like close my eyes. Also, most of the time when I'm thinking of something I would encounter it the very same day. For example when I'm thinking of a movie to rent on a rental shop, that very same day I will find it showing on Television which sucks because I waste money, and I always dream of things that I usually spend some time thinking the very same day that why this past few days I started writing some of the things I remember in my dream to see if there is some connection in real life, I'm hoping someone could help me with this, that I'm not going insane. thank you.
