Helo, I am at a community college and am getting ready to transfer into an engineering major at a four year college. THe problem is choosing, I have a 3.5 Gpa and so I can choose from any engineering major. lately I have seen that there is growing need for computer engineers and so I would like to become one. the problem is can I make it without prior computer programming experience? against kids who have been working with computers all their life?My other option is industrial engineering but I dont think that there are enough opportunities as in computer engineering. please let me know what you think

I am an acknowledged skeptic; I’m looking for an explanation for this.

I had a clock radio with detachable stereo speakers. One afternoon, as I was walking past my bedroom, I heard, in a normal radio volume, a growling noise coming from one of the speakers.

Thinking I had left the radio on, I went to turn it off, only to find it was already off. The sound was only coming from one speaker. I picked up the speaker and examined it, all the while, this growling is still coming from it. Nothing appeared out of the ordinary.

I unplugged the radio; the growling was unaffected and continued on for several more minutes before stopping, apparently forever. I did not have anyone else in the house to witness it, and did not record it. I also did not unplug the speaker from the radio.

The growling was neither human or animal and was “unenthusiastic”. It definitely wasn’t static – it was as clear as a bell. I never felt threatened.

Any similar experiences and explanations?

...at time t=0 John (J) is at 40j...and Norma (N) is at 20i...
John has a constant velocity of 5ms-1 and Norma is going at (3i+4j)ms-1...show that they will collide..and at what time...

*how does one find the time (of collision possibly) in any position vectors question... ..?is there a specific equation...i think -position vector+initial r + (v*t) is right...but with the i and j's i get confused..:S

i shattered a mercury thermometer then a mercury drop fall down on the ground and then spread everywhere in my room .I cleaned that with a vacuum cleaner. and now i know that it can be vaporized by vacuum.but i removed the packet after it. is that possible mercury too soon vapurises or that hapens in long time use by vacuum?

9yrs ago I told my partner that he snores extremely loud every night. He felt highly insulted and claimed stubbornly that I also snore. (We were sleeping in separate beds for valid and normal reasons but to explain would lead away from the issue and takes too much time)
I had a small ‘VOR’, which I wanted to use to for recording reminders, letters etc but it ended up lying in a drawer unused. I decided to test and see if I truly do snore at night. It has a ‘VOICE OPERATING FUNCTION’ which means that if one sets it on VOR then it only starts recording once it hears enough sound or voices. I listened to it the next day. To my horror, I did not hear myself snoring at all, but heard a very clear whisper (as though one could not breathe) saying ‘HELP ME!’ over and over again. It was very clear and enough for anyone else to recognise.
I freaked out and wondered what the hell was wrong with ME? I assumed that I was whispering during my sleep. I did not know anything about EVP then. Now I wonder and feel guilty that there was a possibility something was asking for my help and because I freaked out I did not use the VOR again!
Was it really me? Or a EVP of something that was asking for help and I simply ignored them in my fright.

For people on space-station do the phases of the moon look ruffly the same? This maybe dumb, but wondering if few miles difference would change angle. In recent photos of construction you can see the moon.

Can this be possible?

I have many VIVID dreams.
Maybe when we dream our dreams take us to another universe where all of it comes true.

And every single action you take might differ in another universe.

Almost every introductory article in relativity says that if I go in a spaceship and travel at speeds approaching the speed of light, on my return I will find that much more time has passed on earth. Now here's my problem. Since all movement is relative, you can't really say whether earth moved at those speeds in relation to me, or the other way round.So what determines that myself and the loyal earthling will agree afterwards, that time has definately passed slower in the spaceship?
