It is a theory. I would want my gene pool to be the Eloi and not so much the merlocks. I think we evolve with time; just like billions of years ago have dictated so far.

Why two? If animals wanted to become something else they actually managed to. And if humans want to become something else they could easily manage to since they have all the tools of the trade to do with themselves as they like. Why two species alone pray?

I don't believe evolution ever stops. But 1000 years is not enough time. Look back 1000 years--or several thousand years--and humans were pretty much as they are today, at least we certainly haven't gotten any more intelligent.

Possible but unlikely. What will most likely happen on Earth is emergence of group that dies off fast leaving the illusion on one, but wonder what those that settle on other planets will develop into.

iffff we dont kill our planet in that time......

i dont think much will change physicaly. I mean, look at people from around 1000a.d.....yes, morals, law, dress and so forth were very different, but the genetics of man didnt change. It takes millions of years, not thousands to evlove so drasticaly.

I can't see it like that, but I can see those who can afford it to have access to all the life prolonging medical treatments out living the rest of us mere mortals.
