At a playground, a 18.0 kg child plays on a slide that drops through a height of 2.21 m. The child starts at rest at the top of the slide. On the way down, the slide does a nonconservative work of -312 J on the child. What is the child's speed at the bottom of the slide?

2.A particle moves under the influence of a conservative force. At point A the particle has a kinetic energy of 14 J; at point B the particle is momentarily at rest, and the potential energy of the system is 24 J; at point C the potential energy of the system is 6 J.
(a) What is the potential energy of the system when the particle is at point A?
J
(b) What is the kinetic energy of the particle at point C?

And maybe the more important question is Why does Answers allow them to hide them.
It seems to me if a person is asking honest questions and giving honest, helpful answers they would not want to hide them. I get a lot of useful information looking back at someones answers when I see that they give some good advice on a question. When I see Q&A's hidden, I start to doubting anything they say. Yahoo Answers allowing people to hide their Q&A's seems to go against everything that they stand for, which is to provide people with a forum to get good honest helpful answers. I realize that there are some people on here for other reasons. Providing a hiding place for them seems to encourage these people. If I am missing the point here, someone clue me in.
I am asking this in Agriculture because these are my people and the one's I'm interested in hearing from.

For science I have to make a earthquake resistant model. That can actully survive a simulated earthquake by shaking the desks in Transfrom, Divergent and, Convergent. It can be anything that not too heavy and it can be up to 2 ft. Also it needs to be simple enough for 6th grade but still needs to be good. I just need suggestions I dont want to cheat.

here's the question, it sounds like physics, but i'm in diff. eq and i don't have a clue how to start it...(we are currently working on nonhomogeneous diff eqs)

A front-loading washing machine is mounted on a thick rubber pad that acts like a spring; the weight W = mg (with g = 9.8 m/s2) of the machine depresses the pad exactly 0.13 cm. When its rotor spins at ω radians per second, the rotor exerts a vertical force
F0 cos(ωt)
Newtons on the machine. Neglecting friction, determine at what speed (in revolutions per minute) resonance vibrations will occur?
thanks!!

Occasionally when I take a shower- the liner blows around "attacking" me. Why?? The door is always closed and the windo is not open. And it doesn't occur all the time.

I would like to stop it if I can- cause how irritating is it to try and take a shower while having plastic suctioning to your wet body!

I saw it behind the pool table. It was solid black about 3 feet tall and it moved almost too fast to see but it darted into the corner and then it was gone.
I know it was not an animal but what could it be. I am scared to go in there now
