Everyone is wrong the answer is 283! Always do the ()'s first. 1+4(56)+3. Then add the 1+4 in front of the ()'s, which gives you 5(56)+3. Next multiply 5(56)= 280. Lastly, add the remaining part of the equation. 280+3= 283 So, there's your answer 283!

1+4(8x6)+3
=1+4x56+3-----(the bracket here is multiply)
=1+224+3-----(u multiply/divide before u plus/minus i.e BODMAS rule--bracket open,divide,multiply,divide,add, subtract)
=228
know how to get your answers now?i'm a highschooler who tutors math and this is a common problem among many. so i checked and there was this bodmas rule that tells u whether to add, minus, multiply or divide first. Hope u remember!
