Ok, I've been working on this and I am stumped. I don't necessarily want the answer, but a point in the right direction:

A free falling object takes 1.50 s to travel the last 29.0 m before it hits the ground. From what height above the ground did it fall [no wind resistance]?

If 2ax - 5x = 2, then x is equivalent to...

[1] (2 + 5a)/2a
[2] 1/(a - 5)
[3] 2(2a - 5)
[4] 7 - 2a

An answer with an explanation would be much appreciated. Thanks! :)

I am working on a problem that requires me to integrate x+1/x^2+1. I've used a CAS to find a solution: 1/2ln(x^2+1)+arctan(x), but I would like to know how to get to that answer.

Could anyone explain to me how to find an antiderivative for this problem?

I have recently become interested in Geology, particularly the study of rocks. I understand the 3 basic rock types. What I want to know is how does one identify a rock type (Igneous, Metamorphic, Sedimentary) and then the rock (i.e. Granite, limestone, Sandstone, etc.) simply by looking at them?

I am often electrically shocked when I touch metal. Of course, i dont mean serious injury, but just small sparks that occur from time to time that everyone has probably encountered. It happens most to me when I wear flip-flops.

So what are some things I could do to prevent these small shocks?

I am having trouble tackling this problem:
"A car makes a 60.0-km trip with an average velocity of 40.0 km/h in a direction due north. The trip consists of three parts. The car moves with a constant velocity of 25 km/h due north for the first 15 km and 62 km/h due north for the next 32 km. With what constant velocity (magnitude and direction) does the car travel for the last 13-km segment of the trip?"

Here's what I've done so far:
40 km/h =(25 km/h + 62 km/h + x) / 3

120 km/h = 25 km/h + 62 km/h +x

120 km/h = 87 km/h + x
33 km/h = x
^not even sure if thats the correct way to do it. any help will be highly appreciated!!!!!
