Molecules in the retina respond to particular wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation - what we think of as visible light - and this is how we can see. Insects can see further into the EM spectrum than we can. Is it conceivable that an organ could evolve which has molecules, crystals or whatever that can transmit and receive radio wavelengths?

I have a friend- she is being born after 3 died kids in the family and her mother stayed 9 months in hospital until she gave birth.
In mothers family there were in past generations people with some para qualities and my friend has also some abilities- she can guess about the weather, the herbs, the health, but the most interesting is to feel somehow where dangers are- could this be result from the fears and the empathy of her mother and is this a gift/present from mothers family?

1. A 36-ft ladder rests against the edge of a roof. Four feet of the ladder's length extend beyond the edge of the roof, which is 28 ft above the ground level. Find the tangent and secant of the angle that the makes with the ground.

2. The angle of elevation from a point on the ground to the top of the pyramid is 35degrees 30 minutes. The angle of elevation from a point 135ft farther back to the top of the pyramid is 21 degrees. Find the height of the pyramid.

I know that if f and g are functions which are continuous at the point x = a, then the sum of f + g is continuous at x = a. But if f & g are continuous for all real x, will the sum & division of both be continuous for all real x as well? I think no, but I don't know how to prove it >_<
1 more question. If f(x)=g(x), for x isn't equal to c and f(c) isn't equal to g(c), then f & g aren 't continuous...is this true?I think it's false, but i don't know what function should I use.

Help please!
Thank you very much!

I'm trying to follow an example solution, but having trouble with how the author got from:
1/[1+0.3e^(-0.276t)]
to
= [e^(0.276t)]/ [(e^(0.276t)) + 0.3]
How could this have been done?

PEOPLE HAVE EXISTED FOR 6,000 YEARS AND THEY STILL CANNOT STOP FOREST FIRE? IT IS STRANGE.
FIRE NEED OXYGEN, FUEL AND HEAT TO START. IF THEY REMOVE OXYGEN THEN FIRE CANNOT START. DO THEY HAVE A CHEMICAL THE SIZE OF THE HYDROGEN BOMB THAT CAN REMOVE OXYGEN A SIZE OF A FOOTBALL FIELD. I AM SURE THEY CAN STOP FIRE FROM SPREADING TO ALL FOREST THE SIZE OF A FOOTBALL FIELD. MAYBE, THE US GOVERNMENT COULD COME UP WITH SUCH SUPER BOMB TO STOP FOREST FIRE. BUT FIRST WE MUST GET THOSE PEOPLE OUT BY LOUD SPEAKERS.

Delivery truck is required to make five stops on its morning route. Let X denote # of on-time deliveries for a given morning, let f denote probability mass function of X, and let F denote the cumulative distribution function of X. Historical data suggests that:

f_X (5) = 0.88, f_X (4) = 0.06, f_X (3) = 0.03, f_X (2) = 0.02, f_X (1) = 0.008, f_X (0) = 0.002

1. Construct cumulative distribution function of X.
2. Determine probability that truck makes at least 4 on-time deliveries.

Any help or advice on how to start solving this problem would be great. My professor is not great at explaining and most of the class is lost in this subject.

A cardiac monitor is used to measure the heart rate of a patient after surgery. It compiles the number of heartbeats after T minutes. When the data in the table are graphed, the slope of the tangent line represents the heart rate in beats pero minute. The monitor estimates this value by calculating the slope of a secant line. Use the data to estimate the patient's heart rate after 42 minutes using the secant line between the points with the given values of T. (give answers correct to 1 decimal place)

T (min)- --36-----38-----40-----42------44
HBeats--2526--2665--2803--2936--3070

a) T = 36 and T = 42
________________

b) T = 38 and T = 42
________________

c) T = 40 and T = 42
________________

d) T = 42 and T = 44
